I never realized that you could bury 100k of bells and sometimes get 300k back! I thought that you could only bury 10k and get 30k back and waaah! Anyway, I now mourn the bank I could have been making T3T I wonder why I believed this....

Kind users pointed out it's random and you're only guaranteed a 30k back and sometimes get more!


Any other game misconceptions y'all had?

There is only a limited chance of getting more than 30k back. It's random (despite people who have written articles/made videos about 'patterns' this was shown to be false by data miners).

I figured as much! My belief was that you'd never get over 10k back so I only ever did that! I'm tempted to chart which ones give you the most returns overall. ^^ I think the 100k might be worth the risk... but then again, risk scary!

wait i didn't know dataminers were able to prove the 'patterns' false, but thanks for bringing this up. i was about to tell OP about it not happening always & there's a 'pattern', i guess there's none. just random.

That'd make the most sense so TTs like myself don't have an infinite bell gateway! Datamining useful.

I only ever bury 10k as i dont wanna risk it most of the time. Plus if you do the math you're more likely to get more money within an entire year burying 10k rather than 99k each day, but obviously if youre lucky you may get more burying 99k or an in between of both

Another misconception, although its probably been disproven now, is the whole clap at the dodo thing. I remember when i first saw a post of that and i just had to stop for a moment because of how utterly bonkers it sounded.

I always wondered how that one got started. I imagine a Twitter thread or something trying to spread that... though I do like emoting at NPC's to see their responses!

i love doing the encouraging emote and having my villagers do it back, its super cute

The ideal amount to bury in terms of risk/reward balance is 30k. Because you could get 90k back, but if you don’t and only get the 30k (in three 10ks), you haven’t lost money.

I always bury 10k and always get 30k back. When I have buried 30k it was very randomised whether I got 30k or 90k. So yes I stand by 30k bury yielding the best result when considering risk, or 10k if you want a guaranteed moderate return.

Can you have another NPC along with Daisy Mae? I've thought there's always another but I can't find them so.. I was probably again wrong xD

I thought 'request cleanup' flattens the whole island and puts all your trees, flowers and items on the island into the recycle bin

I... I thought the exact same thing except for the flowers. I assumed it removed anything that could be in your way. T3T
