Game Maker

Anyone here use it? I just got into it after I pirated it and closed the torrent when it was done because I have no soul. Planned to use the 3D to make things that aren't 2D, already learning how to model and render and failing miserably at it.
Anyone else have experience with it?

Nah, Only RPG Maker VX. If I were you I would start with the 2D as the 3D may be too much of a pain like making all those models. Start with the basics and build up from it. Good luck though bro.

Oh, well yeah of course I know about that. Gotta start with Pong and work your way up, no getting around that. I used to use RPG Maker XP, but the limitations and gigantic RGSS scripts were driving me completely insane. Plus I'm a programmer at heart, and learning GML is not only good for me but a great introduction to programming. I'd rather a big open environment where I'd need to learn to walk instead of being in a wheelchair in a hospital.

Ha nice and yeah, RPG Maker does have limits. Anyway good luck anyway, You should post some information and screens of your project when it gets serious later, like I have with my game on RPG Maker VX. Gives you feedback and ideas.

I was pretty good at Mode 7, mainly due to my programmer side again. Having to figure out how it works and how to make it do what I want it to.
Now, like I said, I'm getting into modeling and I'll be making 3D games. I'm using Game Maker because it sounds good but quirky, I like quirks. I know there's better out there, like Torque, but it sounds too easy. I need challenge.

And yeah, stick with Game Maker, It may be a maker but you can do a lot of **** with it. Look at this video, This may inspire you:

Oh I haven't just seen that video already, I already added it to my favorites.
Now THIS, THIS is what really inspired me. It was made with Game Maker and the Ultimate 3D Engine, which I planned to use.

Got a long way before I can go down that road, but I've got my walking stick and I'm not looking back.

I'm using Anim8or right now to get the feel of modeling, and after that I'll use Blender, once I stop being completely concomitant that is.

My first 3D game will be like a zombie survival GTA kinda thing, seems like the best thing to start with. But that'll take a while.

I really could use some guys who are good at rendering so I wouldn't have to make all the renders. But, you know, that's the future. Right now I still have to get my GM legs.

Tbh 3DS max works alot better and is alot easier to use than Blender (Having used both). Plus the interface is friendlier.

Again. 3DS max is better than Blender. I've used both (Games design course, a large part is 3D design). I can pull up examples of my work if you want?

So, you know, not sure if he's going to wait for me to finish and join the team or if he's going to quit. Whateves.
But yeah my team is called Team Caesura and we make games that are like Rareware games when Rareware games where still good.

Go get Game Maker and pick up GML :3
GM is really easy to learn and a powerful tool, all it takes is a little patience.

I cannot tell you how much my heart sank.

I can't for awhile. My laptop is terrible for 3DS max (each time I've installed it I've had to reformat and remove it) and I don't have the money for a new computer or anything. All I can say for now is if I manage to get a new PC or get my dad to buy me some more RAM for this one I'll take you up on your offer for sure. 'till then I am sorry..


EDIT:// I'll talk to my dad, given he WANTS me to get something like this so I can probably beg him a little to buy me some RAM. Plus my laptop is the only working laptop in the house so he'll see the interest xD
