game frozen, won't load past train animation.

hey guys. so my sister's 3ds "corrupted" i suppose and it will open but not past the golden bus in the corner. the bus doesn't move, it just freezes.

this is a downloaded copy and i've tried to backup the save file and redownload it, but the same thing is happening.
any ideas?

Does this only happen with your copy of ACNL? Do other downloaded games do this?

I had a huge problem with crashes/freezes and it turned out to be a combination of my old 3DS being on the fritz and my SD card was malfunctioning. Transfer the SD contents to your computer and put them on a newly formatted one and see if that works.
