Funny Names Your Parents/Older Relatives Call Video Games

For example, my dad calls Stardew Valley “Stardust” and I’m pretty sure I’ve heard “Mario Car” at some point.

No one’s gotten Animal Crossing wrong though….

Anyone have similar stories?

My 78 year old grandmother has decided that every game console there ever is or was is a Wii (or occasionally a GameCube).
Probably because she likes to bowl in Wii Sports, especially the 100-pin bowling game.

My parents don't call video games anything goofy. They were early internet and computer users (one of my moms took computer classes as early as the 80s) and have listened to me talk about video games for so many years that they know most of the actual terms. They don't even call Link Zelda.

My mom called it "Five Nights at Fast Freddy's".. not sure where the Fast came from

she does this kind of thing a lot actually, and not with just video games

Honestly this sounds like a great diner name where they make some of the best fries in town

I don't think any family I know has ever bothered to show an interest or pronounce a game/show wrong. I do remember one time getting Mario Party and Mario Kart mixed up and saying Mario Karty

My mom usually remembers the name of Nintendo handhelds and consoles with no problems, but once in a blue moon, she'll mix up the Nintendo 3DS with the Nintendo DS.

I'm not sure what my dad would call anything Nintendo or video game-related, but there was one time he asked if "I still play my Animal Crossings". He knows absolutely nothing about it, but I did tell him that I play the games.

'Pokeman' a lot back in the 90's when I was a kid from the adults around me. Surprisingly, my mom has never once said the name wrong.
