Yesterday I had a friend over and we were playing in my town, there was one fossil that I hadn't found that day and she found it. She jokingly said she was gonna steal it so I was like nooooooooo and ran over the spot where the fossil was and right next to it. Then she dug up the fossil and I fell into the hole like it was a pitfall trap. It was the funniest thing. Has this happened to anyone else?

I think its a fail-safe thing. To prevent crashes and the like.

Huh, how would that prevent crashes?

Because players aren't supposed to be able to stand on top of holes therefore the game wouldn't know what to do, that's my theory at least.

But did you stand on top of the hole or next to it while she dug it up?
