Full village, or open spaces?

Do you prefer a full town of 10, or open spots?

I've been thinking about town populations the last couple days. When I started playing, I wanted to get the full 10 villagers as soon as possible to help me get a perfect town. Now that I've got it, though, and I know that trading villagers is possible, I'm wondering what other people prefer. I kind of wish I had a spare space for a villager so that if one of my dreamies comes up for trade or at the campsite, I could take them in without having to wait for someone else to move out (maybe Cole, since I've already got another jock villager and I prefer Samson.)

What do you prefer to do? Keep a full village and get to be good friends with everyone first? Or keep at least one villager slot empty to hold out for someone you really want?

So far I have a full village, I think recall most are tier one through three don't quote me on that. I already have my dreamie Carmen the rest of upper tiers are bonuses... Well marshal can be my dreamie as well the guy is adorable what can I say?

I have one open space. I have specific animals that I want in my town, so I move them in, rather then getting to know my other villagers. I prefer to keep at least one villager slot empty to hold out for someone I really want. I say go for it! move somebody out, because you may never know when one of your dreamies will appear in the campsite again and you may regret it. Personally, I don't think it's such a big deal on getting to know your current villagers, it won't really effect anything in game and if they aren't somebody you really want in town, it makes you enjoy the game less in experience. It really doesn't matter whether your good friends with all of your villagers or not - unless you're trying to move out the tenth or trying to get their pictures. But if you have a certain theme you want to meet it's better to get all of your dreamies now rather then later, that way you can plot reset them into places you'd like them to be, and then start landscaping your town rather then trying to be good friends with all of your villagers.

Good luck!

I always HAVE to have a full town. It's because I trade a lot I cannot have some random void villager moving in and ruining my town! So when a villager moves out, I try to move in another villager as soon as possible!

I've already gotten all my dreamies so my village is full and I plan on keeping it like this for a long time. Before that I wanted to have one spot even though I was afraid that some random villager I got from Streetpass or from someone's void would end up messing everything up (which actually happened).

I rather get my villagers through my campsite, so I'm fine with 10 villagers.

I play with other people a lot so I keep a full town to avoid random move ins. If I could have my way I'd have like 5 villagers only. The towns in New Leaf seem small to me.

My town is always full, because I love too many different villagers, but I love the idea of having one spot always open, so that you can always meet new villagers. I would do this if my town wasn't full, or if I didn't have the fear of my developing paths and orchards being destroyed :x

I go back and forth on this. On the one hand, I feel safe to travel and Streetpass when I have 10 villagers. On the other hand, I like having an open space in case someone great shows up in the campsite...but I'm stuck in my town and I can't Streetpass. I don't want someone else's crappy used villager moving in. :p

I don't really like having a full town atm, mostly because I don't really have enough dreamies to fill up my town and I like to see what kind of random villagers I get, voided or not.

my town is almost always full!
i trade a lot and hate to deal with a voided villager as it would be a pain to get rid of him/her!
if i see someone has one of my dreamies up for adoption,
i would just tt and let a non-dreamie villager move out c:

I keep a full town, though I really wish I had a spare space for a dreamie that keeps popping up into the villager trade forum.

But I've already deleted my town 10 times because of stupid stuff like voided villagers moving in, and while I like most villagers and am willing to get to know any of them, I just don't like that they move wherever they want, which can really ruin the flow of a town, especially since I didn't have much access to landscaping materials at the time. It was super frustrating!

I really want to keep this town, so i'm being very careful to only let new villagers in when I want them to, so that I can plot reset and get them a good spot.

i prefer a full village simply bc there's always so many villagers i want to have in my town at once. i actually wish we could have more. also, like others have mentioned it helps to avoid random move ins which used to be important to me. especially via streetpass bc i used to carry my ds everywhere with me.

I prefer a full town, but I'm ok with 9 too. I don't have the campsite yet, so I'll have to be content with 9 for the time-being :3

I like full towns. I have had too many random move-ins in the past. And i dont believe its possible to clear the void using any method. If you have hosted or visited any other towns, the danger is always there so i always try to have a full town.

I enjoy a full village but sometimes it is nice when you have less, as it's easier to manage friendships and tasks for each villager
