So this is a bit of a rant but I get so many DIY dupes from my villagers.
Each time someone is working away at their work bench, I get super excited but about 80% of the time, the recipe is something I already know.
Another MAJOR pet peeve is that the recipes can't be stored - I have duplicates scattered outside my museum and it ruins the look of my island.
I'm half-tempted to sell them all but then I wonder if anyone might have some use for them so I just leave them out there.

So my question is - what do you do with your dupes (especially the non-exclusive event/boring ones)?
Do you sell them?
Do you trade them?
I wanted to just do a give-away at one point but I'm not sure who else could already have these recipes.

I keep the ones I give out to friends in one of my underdeveloped rooms. I sell the rest.

I finished getting all of the Bunny Day recipes days ago and I still keep getting those from bottles. It wouldn’t hurt to put it out there that you have DIYs to give and list them. You never know who might want or need those.

I did that at one point and wanted to give out like 5 ordinary or bunny-day recipes in exchange for the Sakura lamp item or recipe or the Sakura wand but there was 0 interest. So I'm wondering if it's just better to get rid of them.

Yeah, it’s best to assume everyone has enough of the Bunny Day recipes. The Sakura ones are in much higher demand in comparison. That could be why people may not be interested in making the trades.

I’ve just been mailing them out. Idk how much they sell for but if you’re having trouble getting rid of them it’s probably more worth your while to just sell them and free up storage.

A nice thing to do is just have a place where you dump them all and in case somebody visits you, you just show em and they can use whatever they need...
unless the DIY card you get is one that you get pretty easily at the start of the game or a bunny day card, they are mostly useless because 95% of people already have them, so just send them to your friends and wake up the following day wondering why they're no longer on your friend list.

My husband and I trade them amongst each other, but when we get dupes that we both have, we just sell them to T&T. If we get any rare/more demanded dupes (sakura, ironwood furniture, etc) we would probably keep it for future online trading I suppose. That hasn't happened yet though.

Yeah, I just feel most people have the DIY Bunny-day recipes because these have been so common and I haven't gotten anything else too exclusive.
I just hate to scatted them around my house or island.

I really wish we could store DIYs and flowers.

I hoard everything, but had to start selling off DIYs as well because they filled my house.

I keep telling myself I'm going to sell/give them away to other people, but right now they're just sitting in my basement. I've already gone through and sold some of them to make more room.

If you don’t plan on giving them away, just sell them boo.

make a thread one day when you have time if you want to give them away

I have a wastebasket in my bathroom and throw the extra ones away .... who even wants to craft a wooden block table lol?

I sell all mine, unless it is something king of rare then I ask my friends that play. If no one wants them, I sell those too.

i made a shop on here at first, but i kinda got overwhelmed because i don't rly like strangers constantly coming to my town LOL

right now, i have them all dumped out on the ground by my dock so my friends can take whatever they want, but i'll probably end up throwing them away or selling to nook's cranny.

I sell mine if they aren't special ones just to get them out of my hair, but I found that if I make each recipe once (even if I don't like the item) i get less duplicates. I don't know if it just seems that way, or if there really is something to it. I just noticed that each card gets a check mark if you have created it.

Personally i give all my DIY dupes away for free at the entrance of my island. I dont care for selling them and I like to make peoples day if they find something theyve really been looking to have just for free
Its basically just a take one as you leave system

One of the letters I got from the HHA actually said I should "store the things thrown in my basement". :| It's all recipes down there and even the game is telling me to store them when its impossible. :v I hope it comes in a later update lol I save my duplicates for my girlfriend or mom in case either of them need it, other than that they usually get sold to the nooks or given away.

I don't have a basement at the moment. Just got my upstairs room yesterday.
I'm poor in-game. lol. Well... and in real life, too.

I did make a post on Nook's Cranny and someone came by to take a couple of the recipes so at least I'm happy I got to help someone in whatever little way.
If there's no more interest by tomorrow, I'll just sell them all to Timmy and Tommy.
I can't stand having them scattered on my island.

I read the title super quickly (and the last bit is cut off on the homepage) and I thought for a second people found out how to dupe recipes and were selling the sought after ones lmao

I have a section specifically next to my airport for this kind of thing-- a patch of dirt with a 'take free' sign; it just has a bunch of DIY recipe duplicates and whatever furniture I don't want. When people visit, they can take what they like!
