People lurk here so that they can know when a villager that they want is moving. It just means they will be checking your thread often, and usually post to either subscribe to it or keep it in their recent posts.

it just means they're looking around the forum for a dream villager lol, its not considered a reserve but some hope for cyclers to maybe inform them through inbox or visitor message if a villager they're lurking for is ready to move out

Lol. I mention I'm lurking so the person doesn't autovoid the villager I'm interested. I cycle a lot and I'm much more likely to void a character no one is lurking for to get to the villagers people want. Other cyclers will notify "lurkers" when the villager they want is in boxes.

Oh okie dokie folks, that makes sense ahah. Not sure if TBT had its own little thing going on or not when it came to villagers specifically. I know what lurking is, but wasn't sure if to "lurk for" a villager was considered like... calling dibs, so to speak? :0 Idk, some forums or sites have a way of doing things that are generally accepted by everyone and I may have been missing that pfft.

When it comes to tumblr, I've always gave my own town's villagers away first come, first serve, for whoever happens to be around at the time ahah. Never chased up or notified specific people, really. :0
