We add each other's friend codes, then you'll go speak to Porter in your town and open your gates. When he asks for nearby or far away friends, choose far away.

Once you've done that, let me know that your gates are open, then I'll come over

Normally what happens next is you'll walk me to Muffy's house where I'll go in and talk to her and convince her to come to my town. Once I've done that, I'll let you know, then you press 'start' followed by 'end the multiplayer session'
