What do you do with fossils after museum is complete? Do you personally even keep digging them up anymore? Interested to hear what people do

I don't always dig them up anymore but I usually do! I like selling them because they're usually worth quite a bit :)

I kept going to get a few display purposes around my island, then saved up 6 unclassified ones and buried them behind the museum. That way, I don't have to worry about hunting them down, and during mushroom season, I know any stars I find are rare mushrooms.

I keep digging them up, have them assessed and sell them each day. There's a few species of fossil that I'm putting in my storage: Acanthostega, Juramaia, Trilobite, Ammonite, Amber and Australopith.

I mostly use those for decorating. I have had a triceratops skull in my home from the beginning of the game, though I'm now considering switching that out for a tea table with a few other smaller fossils. I like building fences out of ammonites and acanthostega.

I've used the trilobites for decorating as well, the juramaia made a nice addition to my spooky graveyard I made for Halloween. I've seen people use australopith fossils for that as well, so I'm making sure I'm keeping a few those too. I've put some pictures behind the spoiler tag :) The fun part about using fossils as decorations for me is that villagers will interact with e.g. the fossil fence, while they will just walk by a hedge.

The Juramaia isn't easily spotted, but it's in the bottom left corner:

I was selling them for extra Bells. Recently, I've got an idea of two dinosaurs I want to use in the room upstairs, so now I'm in search of these two dinosaurs. There are some that I used to decorate my island, too. It's the stone looking fossil. I don't remember the name, but they look like boulders.

For now they are reburied on the beach until mushroom season is over. Just so they don't mingle with the rare mushrooms. I would assess and sell them usually. I already have mostly full fossil sets in my storage, waiting to be used.

i always do my daily activities whenever i first log onto animal crossing; one of those activities being to dig up my fossils, regardless that my museum is completed (fossil wise). not only is it a good chance for bells, it sometimes takes off a nook mile whim to get them assessed, but a lot of the smaller fossils look really feckin' cool in my opinion to use as decoration. i like to make my exteriors of areas generally match to the location, so i'm planning on putting quite a few of my accessed and extra fossils around my museum for aesthetic purposes.

the acanthostega, ammonite, australopith, dunkleosteus, juramaia, and trilobite fossils are personally my favourite when displayed.

I dig 'em up, get them appraised, then sell 'em!

I've used a few for display outside the museum though.

I dig 'em and sell 'em.I'm not gonna pass up that easy money.I use the these bells to buy frivolous Animal Crossing stuff like clothing and random junk I really don't need from Nook's.I save the rest.

My sister still digs up fossils whenever she plays, but I have mine all permanently buried in my "dig site" area of my island. That works out best for me since I don't want to spend the extra time searching for fossils around my island and getting them assessed.

I completed the museum but I didn’t complete the Nook Miles achievement so I’m still digging them up and bringing them to Blathers everyday.
Once it’ll be done, I think I’ll still dig them up for the extra bells since I always go round my island in the morning.

I haven't completed my fossils in my museum yet but I usually hang on to any doubles I get so I can use them for decoration if I want to later on, I'll probably reach a stage where I have enough of them and then I'll start selling them

I dig them up for extra bells, for fossil doorplates, and to find specific fossils to decorate my museum plaza with.

I just dig em' up and sell them for extra Bells.

I was planning to keep them at first and then hand them over to other players. But the 1600 storage limit doesn't help!
