Fossil balance - too easy?

i read somewhere it's possible to get up to 6? I think that may occur if you miss a day of getting fossils. I was collecting every fossil I could find every day (4) and assumed that must be the daily amount.

after I completed the fossil section of the museum recently, I decided to dig up the buried things adjacent to my bamboo trees that have been there since like a couple days after launch (which I assumed would be bamboo shoots) I found 2 fossils. suffice to say I felt many different emotions in that moment.

just about every time i've gone a day without grabbing all four or not grabbing any i end up finding six. happened the first day i had the vaulting pole too, if i remember correctly.

Tbh I dont mind it, I think it's done intentionally to give players another way to make bells. Also, now that we can place things outside, it makes collecting fossils for decoration purposes great!

The last thing we need is another unnecessary nerf that makes making bells and content way harder than they already are making it in some of these updates x'D I would honestly be disappointed if they changed this too.

Yeah, I don't TT and I already only need 4 more fossils. It feels like I'm completing this faster than NL, but I probably am... You can get more fossils per day if you go to NMT islands and are lucky.

I think that's part of the reason they delayed us by about a month for the art though - to make it take that much longer to finish the museum legitimately. Because you can actually finish the bugs/fish faster than before, without TTing, just by visiting islands of the opposite hemisphere.

I've definitely found it to be too easy. I completed it within three weeks, and while it's awesome that it's done, the excitement of fossil hunting every morning is gone.

I really want a T-Rex outside as well, but I haven't even completed it inside my museum yet. I do have a Stegosaurus outside and am constantly getting those pieces.

I was just talking about this with my daughter. Didn't we have to mail them in?? And you could only donate one at a time. So tedious!

I just finished mine (inside the museum not outside) yesterday. I hope you get to finish yours soon!

Also, gosh, it has been so long since I played the GameCube version! I can't even remember if I even knew how to do this. I was around 11 the last time I played it, I think. Wish I still had a copy so I could check it out for nostalgia's sake.

I'm definitely closest to having my fossils done, but for the past 2 weeks, I've only had one fossil that I could donate. All the rest I've been selling. Probably will take a few more months before I'll get them all at this point.

I'm happy with it and don't see an issue. In fact, I still haven't completed my museum and pretty much every day, everything i get is just a dupe. And I'm still trying to complete the fossil sets that I want displayed outside so I don't find the fossils pointless. And like others have said, they're a good source of income. Would I say no to more fossils being added later? No, that would be awesome! But if I complete my fossil collection sooner rather than later, I'll still be happy. I can then focus on the other exhibits which are all going to take at least a year. I'm satisfied with that. Even if you get all fossils now, you won't be able to get a completed museum until a year after (with no time travel) and that's good enough!

It'd definitely be nice to re-introduce the models. I want to display a full T-Rex outside, but I'd much rather prefer to do a lot of models in little form rather than only having a few larger pieces.

I'm not done my collection yet, and I never finished in New Leaf either. Finding that last piece without trading can take a while if your RNG luck isn't great.

i don’t have a problem with it. i completed my fossil exhibit a few days ago and now i sell my daily fossils to timmy & tommy - it’s easy money lol

I’ve gotten at least 5 or less fossils a day lately, but some duplicates so I either keep them or sell them.

We still have our version. My daughter started playing it when she couldn’t read yet and I had to read all the dialogue to her. I can’t bring myself to get rid of it.
