Fortune Cookie Prizes: Anyone Else Do This?

I'm really curious about this, but at the same time, I really hope people don't treat me like a complete idiot for it, either.

Whenever I get a fortune cookie prize that I don't like or that doesn't go with the theme for my house, I usually just give it away to one of the villagers in a letter or sell it at Re-Tail. I know it's stupid because I should be saving them for trading and stuff, but I don't have a lot of people on my friends list and, honestly, I just want the items gone.
I'm thinking about saving them, though, so I can put them in my museum after it's renovated and just giving away or selling the doubles. Maybe one of my friends will buy them when they come to visit my town. *Shrugs*

Anyway, does anyone else sell or give away their unwanted fortune cookie prizes?

OMG, I've got a drawer full of unclaimed fortunes for doubles because I couldn't think what to do with them, I didn't even think of gifting them to villagers. Yay! I like your idea and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Depends on what it is.
I usually save it, because I do have half my friends list filled up and I do trade with people, but I mostly trade it. Some of the things, like the Pikmin hats, I'll keep and sometimes wear, and things like the 1-Up mushroom or the super star, I keep in my house for HHA points. If I get duplicates, I get rid of them by selling them at Re-Tail, or sending them to my villagers. Very rarely will an item really catch my attention. I really liked the Pikmin plant thingy, and I enjoyed keeping the Blue Falcon in front of my rainbow screen, but other than that, I try to not get fortune cookies everyday.

@Zanessa I don't usually keep anything, even though I LOVE Nintendo just because most of the stuff clashes with the Lolita/Victorian theme I'm trying to go with.
Once I add more people to my friends list, I'll probably end up keeping more of the prizes for trading, but at the moment, it just doesn't seem like there's a reason for me to keep them. Especially since I'm trying to finish my Reset Center AND pay off the 198,000 Bell loan.

At least, if I sell at Re-Tail, I make a profit off of them. Plus, there's always a chance that I could win the same prize again.

You're not alone. I give away the Nintendo prizes I don't want (the one and only prize I want is #26 and I will stop buying the fortune cookies once I get it). Marshal's the recipient of the fire bar today. Heh. I also sell or give away to my villagers whatever I get from Pascal and Gulliver. I don't collect these items because they don't appeal to me. Same thing for the DLC items. Right after I collected it from my post office, I bumped into Bertha and she wanted my fireworks table, so I let her have it. Trading or selling these items (Nintendo/Pascal/Gulliver/DLCs/ores/streetpass gifts) to other players who want them has crossed my mind but I don't want to spend so much effort and time doing it. (Keeping track of stuff, who wants what and when, arranging to travel to another town, etc takes time and co-ordination, especially since I'm on the other side of the planet, in a completely different time zone.)

There are a few I keep for decorating purposes or for Gracie's checks, but other than those I sell the rest of them. Have been giving them to neighbours in need of furniture, though, sometimes. Don't really need them for what I'm doing with my house. Could always collect them again if I feel I need them for anything. I always have my 3DS on and walking with it to get my maximum amount of coins per day.

I stopped buying them after a week or so. In a while I don't think any of them will be rare anymore, and they just take up a lot of space. The only item I'd still really like is Peach's Parasol.

I like dressing up, so I have Peach's parasol and the hero's clothes (still missing the pants) in my locker. The rest I sell on here, or if I'm feeling lazy, I'll just give yhem to villagers.

So far no doubles, but I've kept everything I've gotten so far. I'd probably just give them to whomever wanted them, villager or player though. I tend to give away things, instead of trying to sell/trade them.

I haven't gotten many doubles so far, kept all the ones I have and sold the doubles I did get. That was before I joined this forum though, I might start saving them for trades...

I was struggling to house them in my house until I unlocked a gallery at the Museum. Now I've got a all my fortune cookie items on display, any extras I usually sell if they don't fit in the room. I'm pretty sure I only need the wallpaper and a few other items and I have everything.

I figured people wouldn't be interested in trading them this late in the game coming out.

I sell them or give them away to villagers and I don't buy them anymore.
I have tried selling or trading them on the forum (as well as other rare items) but no one ever even looks at my threads, so I gave up and i'm not listing any of my rare stuff on here anymore.
I honestly don't know if the fortune cookie stuff is that popular, and if you do create a thread it will be on page 5 in a matter of a half a day or maybe it is just me...
