Does anyone really even use the guidebook/strategy guide? I mean It's kind of annoying that Nintendo doesn't give you free updates with the book. I mean as we all know it was published before the updates.
I mean I really only use mine for the cataloging the base game items. And the ever important recipe list. I'm pretty sure that it won't be a huge influx of new recipes that are going to be impossible to track down.
But I really think that the guidebook was kind of a bit waste of money. I mean you could totally look everything up online for free.
but I do love me a hard list of items that I can manually check off and not have to go on the computer for.

I use it for all the same reasons you listed. I also just like having a big physical thing to go along with the game, so I'm pretty happy with my purchase of it.

I have the guidebook and I got it mostly as a collectible rather than for use. It’s super pretty & detailed but you’re right that it’s missing a lot of stuff now with the updates. I don’t regret getting the book primarily because I’m not using it as my main source of information! I knew before getting the book that there was going to be more info online than in the book since that’s how our world is now haha

the publisher has only done one update from April-June but hasn’t updated since then which is really disappointing :/ the publisher imo dropped the ball on this more than Nintendo

What do you mean by that? Did they add in a new section or something?

I think it's for collecting rather than using. Looking at all the pretty pictures seems to be its purpose if you ask me.
Other than that, I think it's pretty useless.

I feel that since there are many free apps out there that have a consistently updated library of DIYs and new items, that not having 100% of the items in the book wouldn't bother me much. Initially when the guide was on back order right when it came out I intended to buy it. At this point I'm not sure what day to day value it would add but it would be cool to have a physical book to look at sometimes! I may still get it someday!

thanks for the link i Save it and print it so it can go with my book. I Maybe need to get better paper as normal Paper dose not feel right with the book.
You might want to try photo paper for printing! It might be better

Photo Paper? Hmm Never us it before. I Got some Heavy Doc paper before as i never use the photo paper before
That might work too! I only recommended it bc photo paper has a bit of that glossy look and the paper is thicker than normal printer paper

I Think my printer support it. I Only ever use Normal run of the mail copy paper. I Only found out about the doc paper as staples hand me a box of them for family doc at need to be printed. So i try at photo paper.

My copy doesn't have those errors

I have an ebook version of one of the Japanese guides. No, it's not updated, but I actually do use it quite a bit. For example, it has example photos of rooms with all of the walls and floors, which I find quicker than testing out in my house/Harvey's. Same with clothing. It's also nice to see all of the villager interiors in one place too, although I wish it had exteriors too. So yeah, for keeping track of item completion, etc. the internet is usually better, but I still like my guidebook for some things too. Doesn't have to be an either or thing.

I use it for the checklists it has cause it shows you all the clothing items and furniture etc to collect so I like to be able to go and look and tick off what I have and see what else I need to collect. Mostly with dresses too cause my characters wears dresses a lot :)
