For the bug off, anyone else thinks its better to play solo?

So hear me out. its already bug off at me, and I did 2 sessions on my island, and 1 on someone's else island. The more people join, the harder it will be to find a bug. And its not like at fish off where you could spawn fish bait to get a fish.

Solo, I would catch 16 bugs in 3 mins, which gave me 18 points.
In team of 4, I would catch between 1-4 bugs. which would net me from 6- 13 points. ( everyone would get between 3-4 bugs each round)

I swear, I had more fun playing the solo sessions where I would catch bug after bug, then literally walk for mins and not finding any bugs in the multi player sessions.

Did anyone else with bug off experience this thing when the bug spawn dramatically decreases?

I solo'd the event and got 300 points in about 3 hours.

The max number of bugs I get in 3 minutes is 16. That only happened once. But on average, I can only catch 10-12. That is also considering that I have a field of 300+ on my island. Also the spawn rate and time.

I had rounds where bugs won't spawn. There are rounds that they are everywhere. It's all RNG.

I got close to silver trophy. And in the multiplayer sessions I swear every round I would only find 4 bugs MAX. while in solo always 14 to 16 bugs. I am done with the event for now, as I got all items and thats enough for me.

I tried to couch co-op the Fishing Tourney with my S.O. (without bait) and it was... Alright. But I feel like I got just as many or more fish by myself. I think having one camera is limiting. If we could have run off in different directions, maybe?
