Tips for those planning a cycle town one day?

This goes for rules, do you reserve or no keep a full lurker list or no for high tiers. How much effort do you put into actual town, do you have any permanent residents. Do you play it ever...Any kind of tips from running the town, everyone is different, to running the thread and rules you have learned to make sure to put in. This wisdom will benefit many of us one day when or town is done people saving an extra cart. Things you have learned along the way.

There are many threads on methods of cycling so do not need to get into that unless you have a unique or want to tell the type for a purpose.

I reserve Tier 5's only for 10 TBT. This keeps me from AVing them. I don't have permanent residents. I have paths since it used to be a secondary town, so I allow people to run on them. Also, keep the threads simple. Don't drag on with un-nessicary info or random info people don't need to know. I do the 2 year-2 year-5 day method.

Well the cycling thread would not be but for cycling so there would obviously be nothing to talk about there except the rules and who is in town and who is leaving and others posts...It's not a conversation board.

That is something everyone knows that goes without saying completely...

I already assume everyone reading this and planning to start a cycle town know it is not thier personal blog, or at least I would hope so, I meant rules and running mechanics of towns and threads, lurker lists, upkeep, ect. This is a somewhat business thing here taking much time and giving back I don't see why anyone would especially quick cycling have time with VMing lurkers or trading to do that. But I guess if anyone starting one is a kid then ok but let's assume even they know that and get to what people have learned through experience. I have run an actual business before and I have never seen a cycling thread with straightforward rules have people say anything other than lurking for but I will watch out for people talking off topic...never seen that though....
