fly and bagworm questions >:(

need both of these stupid bugs for my museum but having trouble

first question- where the heck do you catch flies? i've read online that you can catch them off of rotten fruit or candy, i've had both out for almost a week in my town and they only attract ants, i never see flies.

second question- will bagworms show up on fruit trees if you shake off the fruit? i just realized i don't have any regular saplings in my town lol, only fruit trees, so i'm not sure how to catch one. if that's not possible, is it possible to catch bagworms off of trees on island tours?

ok thats a relief, do you know if the fruit has to be gone for them to show up? i guess i can go around hitting all the trees in my town with a net to find out trial-and-error style xD

i just keep getting ants on my rotten orange >_> maybe it takes longer for flies/im just unlucky?

I've only ever caught a fly off of a boot I fished and left on the floor for a day. Bagworms do come down from fruit trees - even with the fruit still on it

For flies I used a spoiled Turnip. They also appear on those big red flowers if you have a lot of weeds. uhh.

For bagworms? i never shook trees. I just walked around and used the net on them and caught it that way. Aka, no bother shaking trees. Its been confirmed through many places that people catch them without shaking a single tree.

If you'd like you can come over to my cycling town and try to get both. :3 I got flies right now, i'm looking at them and lots of dang trees.

Yeah, any bug in a tree (outside of the bee) can be caught by hitting the tree with the net. Don't bother shaking them. I have hit every tree in town and not gotten a bug, so if that happens, don't doubt what I'm telling you. It's a great feeling to hit a tree and "feel" the bug hitting your net.
