Flowers in storage

I'm cleaning up my town, and I want to keep some flowers in storage until I can get a place to plant them to make hybrids. Will they wilt if I leave them in storage for a certain amount of time? I have the beautiful ordinance in effect, not sure if that changes anything here though.

True, but while they are on the ground they are susceptible to being trampled or having a villager put their house on top of them.
