I'm curious to know how you plant your flowers around your island. Not the areas that are for hybrid breeding, but in general. Do you keep all the same breeds? By colors? Or put them down all mixed up, like a wildflower garden?
I've been keeping areas separate by breed, but I'm thinking about changing it up a bit. I'd love to see examples of other islands.
i either have the same colour but mix all different breeds, or I keep the same breed but mix different colors in
(white hyacints mixed with pink, blue, orange and yellow are so pretty!)
mostly the first though, it just looks so good!
Mine is literally just random lol, I'm not too sure if I like it. I only have blue, black, purple, pink, and white flowers, but I have all the species. I usually plant them so no two colour/species are next to each other.
Mine is spaced out rather than being clumped together. Like, I have lone flowers inbetween tree spacing and it looks even. From the plane, it looks pretty boring tbh lol. But the colors are mainly pink hybrids since that's what I was working with when we had cherry blossom season.
But otherwise, I have a row of a rainbow behind and in front of my Resident Services, and each of my villagers has their own mini garden of flowers based off the color of their exterior house.
i have one area that's all gold and one that's a rainbow pattern, but for the most part they are all mixed up. i like to make it look random and natural
Mines random!
The two areas where I have a lot of flowers is decorating the villagers houses. For that I just look at the exterior/interior and make a pattern based on color and not breed.
Then I have a rainbow garden with roses, hyacinths, and lillies and I go from the brightest and most happy colors to some of the darker colors!
Thanks for all the ideas! I replanted in my cedar forest area. I had put mums around my house, cosmos along the path below it, and windflowers across the river.
I've brought a few cosmos up the stairs and some mums down. On either side of the bridge, I mixed some cosmos and windflowers. In both cases, the colors are all mixed together, and I like it much better.
I'm not sure if I'll mix it up in the neighborhoods. Right now, one has tulips and the other pansies. The colors are scattered, though.
Funny how something so simple can make such a big change.
