I'm sorry to say it but I would have pulled the plug a long time ago. Maybe a year or two but not for 42 years. It's sad though.

I don't think I could pull the plug because I'd always have the feeling "They could've awakened."

I would be the weirdest feeling to "go to bed" a 16 year old boy then wake up an almost 60 year old... old man. I don't know if hair grows when you're in a coma but I would want mine to be left alone so I could wake up a wizard.

Psychologists would have a field day if she woke up. Pretty sad story though...

She probably didn't realize just how big of a burden it was going to end up being.
I don't think anyone really expects to be comatose, let alone for 42 years.

I remember hearing about this woman when I lived in Palm Beach. It was a pretty big deal for one of my teachers that had gone to school with her. It was supposed to be one of those 'don't give up hope' stories.

I just got done reading the website. Apparently she woke up, gave her sister a huge smile, and then died. My feels are doing things.

Have you ever seen the movie Awakenings? It's based on a true story, where that exact situation came up.

Anyway, this was obviously awful to hear about. My opinions are too fiery and controversial to state here, so that's all I'll say for now.

Now that you've said that PM me.
