Fishing tourney

So how does it work?

I know it's the biggest fish wins. I can easily win all three trophies by getting my mayor and my alts to catch sharks.

But I want to get all of the fish furniture. According to Thonky, the fishing tourney will accept any fish, and so to get the furniture, I need to give Chip the fish from smallest to largest fish.

So does this mean I can do something like give him a goldfish and slowly increase it up to a shark? Or does it need to be a particular size? (Like a medium fish up to a huge one?)

This. I started off with some teeny river fish and worked my way all the way up through Sea Bass and eels. It's easier to catch fish and write the names and sizes down in the order you caught them, instead of trying to organize the fish by size.

Also, the fishing tourney rounds fish down to the nearest inch. So a 44.25 inch fish and a 44.75 inch fish will both count as a 44 inch fish.

Ah okay. Thanks! I'm gonna start catching my fish now. I only have a few which I wrote down by name and size and then ordered them as such in my storage.

I went to my friend's town yesterday (they has it on the fishing tourney) and if you beat the record size of the top fish size you could get a fish furniture or a normal furniture from Chip. I got around 4 pieces of fish furniture that way! But it won't count you in winning a trophy. (Hope this will help since you're trying to get the whole set)

I did that before for the bug tournament so I could try to get the other half of the set, though I got a lot of extras.

All it is is a matter of finding a town where no one has submitted a fish yet and so the top score is easy to beat. xD

I believe you need a fish of 80 inches and above (and beat the high score) to start receiving fish furniture. Any smaller, and you'll just be getting regular furniture.
