I'm still stuck in December cause I don't want to time travel and lose some villager. And no one is bothering to say they're moving. But they do actually bug hunt during the bug event. I saw Buck go up slowly to a beetle on a tree. So I caught it and he did the shock emote.

So sometimes they do interact. Just not always.
