My first shiny was cleffa in the original silver, when you had like a 1/4 chance of hatching a shiny. Then red gyrados later in the game. Aside from those two, I've only ever caught a shiny chimeco in sapphire, and a shiny swoobat in white. Not much luck with them lately.

Level 50 Audino in Black when I was training my Throh. I was shocked! I kept it with me for the rest of my time playing the gen 5 games, through all the resets and what not. Until my game corrupted. I lost both of my first two shinies(Driftblim being the other) and havent found one since
- first shiny I got from a trade was klefki
- first wild shiny Pokemon was Floatzel
- first shiny caught on purpose was Magicarp (is now a Gyarados)
- first shiny traded with another shiny was Charizard (traded with Klefki)

My first shiny was a Pachirisu in Diamond. I knew what shinies were but had never actively gone searching for one until after catching that Pachirisu.
Most of my shinies have been from trades though. I lost a couple too, when I lost my Black cartridge, including that first Pachirisu Dx

My first shiny Pokemon I encountered was a Bronzong. I caught it in a Friend Safari. It isn't one of my favorite Pokemon, but that doesn't mean I don't love it! Plus, it also had (and still has) Pokerus when I caught it!
Now that I have more shinies of Pokemon I actually like, I don't really use Brongzong anymore. It's sorta just sitting there, collecting dust in the PC, but I refuse to release or trade it. It's a great reminder of my first shiny Pokemon encounter!

I've never acually caught a shiny... I have a few from trades though. But wsy back when I was 8 and playing Pearl, I saw a shiny pokemon once. I can't remember what it was but I just looked at it and thought "what the heck is that" and left the battle -_-

When I was like 5 and was playing leaf green I encountered a shiny zubat. soon after I found a geodude. I caught them because they "looked cool" I'm glad I did.

Platium was my first main pokemon game so I had no idea shinies existed and I saw this r unknown and caught it because seeing a dis colored pokemon sad extremely weird for me! I don't like hunting for shinies I think finding it by chance is the best feeling so in white 2 I got a pink weaville in x I have a black furfou and a shiny victorybell. In alpha sapphire I have a shiny swalot and altaria if you have a diance I'll trade you my swalot for it!

I got a shiny Squirtle on Pokemon Diamond! Someone wanted a legendary for it, and I totally did a little quest to get it. I don't even think they realized it was a Shiny, the asking pokemon was way too low.
I have a Shiny Arceus on that Pokemon Diamond file..... I'm eternally upset that there's no way to transfer those pokemon to ORAS.

I've never had a shiny Pokemon aside from those you encounter in game (Red Gyarados) or those via events.
I've only encountered 1 shiny in the wild and it was a shiny Geodude. Found it not long after buying Gold/Silver when they first released and I didn't really know why it was 'sparkly' at the time (because we didn't have the internet to spoil everything back then). I had no Pokeballs so I just killed it and got on with my life.
Even now I know what shiny Pokemon are I still don't care that I killed that shiny Geodude...Because Geodude sucks.

Ditto, Terrakion (with Max IVs in ll stats!), Donphan, Kecleon, and Octillery just to name a few!
