Pokémon First Shiny?

Mine was shiny Chansey in Silver. I didn't even know about shiny pokemon, but I only caught it cause I wanted a Chansey haha.

Shamefully my first Shiny was an Espurr from the Friend Safari in Pokemon X, Haven't had any luck in other Pokemon games but ayy.

Back in the 90s, Pokemon Gold.

I was outside the daycare going up and down the route trying to hatch a Shiny Mareep. I accidentally ran into the grass and found a Shiny Rattata and went nuts. My first shiny encounter. I tried to throw a Pokeball, my PC was full.... *cries* Later in the game I found a Shiny Ponyta on Mt Sliver and caught it, along with Pokerus (From a wild Ursaring). I remember I went nuts because I thought my Pokemon was sick...

How do I remember all this? I loved Gold a bit too much...

First shiny encountered was a Shiny Geodude which I failed to catch because I did not have any Pokeballs. First Shiny I caught not counting Red Gyarados was a Shiny Meditite in Diamond. It was my first Meditite encounter in that game and thought that they changed the sprite color.

Shiny Marill in Pokemon Gold. I legit thought that Marill was sick, because it was all green. I was also 6 at the time. ^^;;

I ran into a shiny graveler in game once...and I was lowering it's HP to catch it and it used self-destruct.
First and only in-game shiny I ever had too.

My first probably maybe possibly non-cheat shiny was a Totodile, but I bought it on this website, so it doesn't really count. I have yet to find my very own non-cheat shiny.

Wow this th read makes me feel old. Excluding the shiny gyrados from s/g/c, it was a shiny sparrow from head butting trees in silver or gold. I had both versions and all the first gen so it's hard to remember which. Definitely not crystal.

Never caught any before XY. First shiny I ever got by myself was a noibat that I hatched.
First shiny I caught was a bellsprout from a horde lol

before both of those though I was playing on my friends X and I went to get her a lapras from the dude who gives you a free one and when I looked at it it was purple... I was like wtf did I just get you a shiny lapras?? lol fml not even on my own game

I found a couple back in the old games, I can't remember which ones but I remember catching them. At the time, I thought it was a glitch but a cool one. It was only later that I found out about shinies and I was really glad that I caught them.

I haven't found any in ages or in XY or ORAS.

i had hatched a shiny pichu within the first few days of starting Y again and that was my first 'real' game
several texts later to my brother and i find out it was shiny.

A long time ago my first encounter in emerald after getting poke balls was a shiny zigzagoon, no idea what it was thought the game was glitched. Didn't want to evolve it because I thought it would lose the stars.

My first legit shiny that I caught without using gameshark or action replay(excluding the shiny Gyarados in HG/SS) was a Lunatone on White in the Giant Chasm just after I had caught Kyurem. I was stupid and forgot to switch it to my sisters game for holding before restarting it.

Ive never encountered a shiny ;-; I have a lot of shinies, but I've never actually encountered one...

My very first shiny actually has an interesting story. I was around 10 years old at the time and it was my first ever video game, not just my first Pokemon game, but video game. It was Pokemon Emerald. I remember being quite far in the game and not really knowing what I was doing as I knew nothing about Pokemon games at the time. Anyways, I was walking through a cave (can't remember which now) without repels. Out of nowhere I ran into a Zubat, but it was green and did the little sparkle thing. I was totally clueless why in the world the Zubat was green! Thankfully being smart I caught him and named him Unique as that's how I saw him. I spent a lot of time researching why my Zubat was green. I even remember Googling "Green Zubat". Anyways eventually I figured out that he was shiny and what a shiny was. When it came time to restart my Emerald game, I made sure to migrate him to my newer games, which by this time he had long evolved into a pink Crobat. Here he is today back in Hoenn again!

Also, to those who complain about going into a cave without repel it can actually pay off sometimes!

The first shiny I came across was a Vulpix in Pokemon Silver. Unfortunately it either ran off or used Roar and I lost it almost as soon as I met it, lol. I was gutted, and walked around that patch of grass for hours trying to find it again (yeah I didn't know how the game mechanics worked back then.. )
