Fireworks Day Issue

Today is my second day on New Leaf (it arrived yesterday YAY).
I know I'm kind of supposed to be paying off my loan and taking it slow... But the only thing Isabelle will talk to me about is the fireworks show. I can't get her to tell me anything else because of the event, so I can't start working on my reputation by pulling weeds and watering flowers and stuff.
Is there anything I can do? Or am I pretty much just stuck with paying off my loan for the day and waiting until tomorrow?

yep you'll have to wait till tomorrow to really do any mayor stuff

I had the same problem with my villagers, I couldn't talk to them while the fireworks were on. Just have to wait until tomorrow.

You could time travel. Other than that, there is nothing you can do except to wait until tomorrow. Sorry

Whilst there's a special event like fireworks night you won't be able do do any mayoral duties from what I understand.

Yeah it is a shame, I had 80% approval and just need my house to finish, well it finished today, but since their is the event I can't do anything, so I have to wait until tomorrow to get the permit then another day to start projects. ;-; I don't want to time travel due to getting new neighbors every other day since I just made a new town.

Annoying, isn't it? I haven't had a ceremony for opening the cafe because of the fireworks. Isabelle says she's been working, but every time I walked by the plaza, the lazy thing was just standing there.

I got New Leaf the day before the summer solstice. When I started it up, it was past 9 o'clock. By the time I was ready to play, it was 11 o'clock. Not much you can do when everything is closed and people are sleeping.
But you do have to wait until the next day. Sorry.
