I would really love to be the person whose town name has always stayed the same but that just isn't what I did! Most towns were named after actual places I lived in, until NL where my towns were BearTown, then moonbear.. Moonbear just doesn't fit as an island name, and I've never REALLY liked it!

I've finally settled on Reveria. Based on the world name of Fantasy Life, one of my favourite 3DS games! Super happy ^^ What about yall? Was it hard to decide, or have you not even decided yet!

It's gonna be so hard for me to decide. ?clair, the name of my New Leaf town, doesn't really fit an island theme, lol. I'll probably pick something more tropical sounding, cause ... It's an island lol.

I actually haven't thought of an island name for this game yet, as I am not certain if we are allowed more letters than eight like New Leaf.

I wanted to name my town Sheffield because I was born in South Yorkshire, England. But I even couldn't fit Yorkshire. I thought of the county York, but since America stole the name for "New York" it sounded stupid to put York on its own. And stupid to put NSW or Aussie just because I live in Australia now.

I went to York to fork a talk to a pork to walk to Mork. (I'm tired, it's early morning and I thought of a song)

I named my brother's town Narnia because we both love the film series (but I prefer the books),

then my first town I named after my favourite English Premier League Football team, but it was too long. West Bromwich Albion. I don't like to have it WBA or West Brom. There actually isn't a place called Bromwich, it's just called West Bromwich. Don't ask me why please.

My new town I named Azran after my favourite game series. If anyone doesn't know, the place names are either not original or various and too long (apart from Lake Kodh and London)

Curious Village - St. Mystere

Pandora's Box - Folsense (mainly) but a bit of Dropstone.

Lost Future - Normal London and Future London.

Spectre's Call - Mistenhallery

Miracle Mask - Monte d'Or (Yorkshire and London in flashbacks)

Crossover with Phoenix Wright - Labyrinthia

Azran's Legacy - Lake Kodh, Kensington and Scotland Yard (London), San Grio, Froenborg, Phong Gi, Monsinnia, Hoogland, The Nest and Torrido.

So, even though San Grio is actually an island itself, I'm not sure if I want such a cliche name. I do want to have the island to do something with Professor Layton. Well, Azran is actually not a place name in the series, it is the ancient civilization that needed to be restored. It even had Golems and stuff.

This has been thought about so in depth it's scary.. and is also the most British thing I've heard! You're truly one of us

I've never been particularly creative with town names, to be honest. My first NL town was called Asland, which was a variation of the word island, I guess? Then I deleted the save and called the second one Ladybug, and in CF I had a town named Fantasia, which was kinda meh. I like the idea of naming towns after objects, so I'm thinking Windmill for the next one (again, kinda sucky) or generally something wind-related.

I haven't decided!! I'm excited for New Horizons, but I'm still focused on my New Leaf town of Astoria. I want to have it as finished as I can before New Horizons. Once the game has released I will likely decide a name then--I live in Hawaii, so perhaps I will try to name it like one of the islands/places here, just switch things around so it is original. c:

i held a contest on here to decide my town name and character name and what i ended up choosing was
keanu of ka honua!
just to keep an island type theme and i thought they were really pretty names too

I've been thinking long and hard for my island name and I came up with Lollilia. It was just some random name I thought of and my mom really liked it and said it sounded sorta Hawaiian. It was either that or naming it Blossom. I thought of Blossom because think about it. You are basically building a island from the ground up. So it's kinda like making a flower blossom because you worked so hard to plant the flower and watch it grow, just like building the island and watch it grow. So it's really hard for me to decide what name to go with. If they do add more characters for the name limit, then I will probably have to think of another, but only if they do.

I've decided on my island name already, but I want to keep it top secret so it stays unique.
There's probably going to be other people with the same island name but- I really love it & the theme that I'm going to be going for with my island. :D
I haven't decided on a name for a backup if I do end up getting over the name in the next couple months lol

I haven't decided, but I'd like to name my island after something in Middle Earth like Rivendell. On the other hand, that is a big name to live up to :p

I decided long before E3 I wanted my "town" in the new game to be called "Rainbow", and Rainbow still works for an island so I'm sticking with that!

Reveira is very pretty! Great choice

Nice to hear that you find a name, Reveira sounds like a lovely name for an island. I really like it.

I guess I will pick one of those names I used in the other AC games. Then again, I would really like to
know if they allow us to have a name with is longer than just 8 characters or if the limit is set to be 8
again. Because if the limit is like 10 or 12 characters this time, I may thinking about a better name for
my island.

my town name has been "spirit" and my main character's name has been "sugar" for every animal crossing game i've played, but this time i'm changing it up since it'll be so different. right now, i've been thinking about calling the town/island "root" and my main character "tea." maybe tea. we'll see! but i like the name root right now. i think it fits with the whole building the town from the ground up theme.

I just put two and two together that Ohana would be a fantastic island name

Oh it makes me so happy someone is naming their island Reveria! I love Fantasy life so much. I have no idea what i?m going to call my island yet! I thought I had settled on Oedo, named after the Oedo botanical island in Korea. But I was worried I might get bored of a name of a real life location. I?ll probably spend some time button mashing a name generator until I?m inspired by something. I?m also still hoping they raise the character limit to at least 10 characters.

I like the idea of naming it something in Hawaiian or in another Polynesian language. I was struggling thinking of what to name my new island and now I've got whole dictionaries to choose from!

Aw, man, I'm having a hard time with this myself. In the past I've had the town Estival, which I liked a lot, but I'm really more of an Autumn person! But Autumnal just doesn't have the same ring to it...

I considered Harvest but it sounds a little like a horror movie...luckily I have until March to decide :p

Both my WW and CF towns were called Village (not that original, but I was really young when I created them). My NL town is called Hemony. I'm still in love with that name, but I want something different for New Horizons. Since I've been named after a Greek goddess, my plan is to mix together some names of Olympian Gods. I'm not going to tell what it is yet because I'm quite sure I'll be the only one with that name :D
