i can't seem to get an answer about this anywhere i look, so i'm asking here.

i forgot to harvest and plant the perfect peach that spawns when i started my second town. i have fertilizer and a silver shovel on my mayor for my primary town. if i send my mayor in with some fertilizer, harvest a normal native peach from the town, and then plant it somewhere in that second town with some fertilizer next to the sapling, will it spawn a perfect peach on the tree? how does fertilizer work to net you perfect native fruit and how would i need to use it?

You need to bury the fertilizer next to the fruit. Using a golden shovel to bury the fertilizer is guaranteed to spawn a perfect fruit tree.

From what I've read, you need a golden shovel & fertiliser to give hybrids a boost, so suspect that its the same for trying to get a perfect fruit tree from planting a normal fruit - I would guess it would give you one perfect fruit/two ordinary as at the start of the game. Just bury the fertiliser next to the sapling.

If that is even possible, it might take a while and its probably best to trade for a perfect peach if you can.
I'm presuming that your first town's native fruit is not peaches & you haven't got any in stock there.

Ah - well I've learn't something then - I didn't think burying fertiliser would guarantee you a perfect fruit tree.
