Feeling Discouraged

Like what others have suggested, it's always great to take some time off. Stressing over it may only lead to burnout, which in turn might lead you into losing complete interest in playing the game.

I’m not a fan of overly decorated islands or islands with excessive stuff or urbanized islands. If it didn’t limit gameplay experience, I’d still probably be living in a tent. I’m weird, I guess but the appeal of New Horizons to me was the deserted island thing. I just like the island as is so I never feel this. Lol. I gave in because of the point system and decorated the place to get the five star and now I’m in the process of taking everything down and doing it how I like it. Like an island.

Being discouraged is totally normal! I was the exact same way when I first started designing my island. Even got to a point where I hated all I did and wanted to start over because it looked so bad compared to others. That's the big thing you need to try to learn here. Don't compare yourself others. I know it's really hard, but you'll thank yourself later I'm sure your island is great! Maybe all you need is some encouragement to make you realize that!

My island is basically exactly how it was when I first got to it (besides all the paths and furniture I added). You don't even need to do crazy terraforming for a nice looking island. Sometimes simpler is better

I am jealous of people who have really pretty, tropical-looking Islands.

However, when I think about it, I realize that those pretty islands look very inconvenient to live in. Then, I don't feel bad.

I understand how you're feeling and I low key feel that way also. I've kinda hit a designer's block. I really wished I had done terraforming of the cliffs areas that are blocking the rocks but that's where my residential area is and that's just too much work... When I'm discouraged I try to look for inspiration. I also just try to do other things that make me happy like playing with my dogs and hang out with my family.

I've been feeling this way for the last few weeks! I wasn't playing much other than going on to check the shops and see who was visiting and what was being crafted.

Sooo, I emptied out a big chunk of storage and started to slowly work on my entrance. I visited other islands for inspiration and I've finally started to get back into it. My island has a loooong way to go but I am really enjoying it now.
