Federation Force petition

this has been going on since e3 last aired...
those people are wasting their time, they already let nintendo know how they feel about the game from the negative reaction on nintendo's youtube channel. reggie said in an interview that they think people should try it before judging and that they got positive reaction on blastball! thus they're releasing it. it's just...ugh! I hate being a huge metroid fan now :c

this is the inteview

I knew about the petition.

It honestly doesn't surprise me, there's petitions for everything these days. People just abuse petitions. They've practically lost all meaning at this point since people use them for such stupid stuff all the friggin' time, like this.

Is anyone else reminded of Spiral Knights by this? I mean as someone who has never touched a Metroid game, this looks really cartoony. Pikmin look less cartoony then those monsters.

Nintendo should start listening to their fans. I mean, seriously, who is this game even aimed at? I don't think anyone's expecting the game to be cancelled - the important thing is to get the message across to Nintendo that we won't take this crap.

Just give me Metroid 5 already. It's been over 12 years now since Fusion (Metroid 4) was released.

"Other M"

I think the petition is stupid, but I think Nintendo revealing it originally as just "Blast Ball" was a dumb mistake. If they had come straight up beforehand saying this is a Metroid spin-off called Federation Forces featuring this game mode then they would have been slightly better off. Instead they make it seem like a new IP and then ultimately proceed to **** all over their fans with the onslaught of an awful direct.

The game could be good and as a Metroid fan I am disappointed, but I don't want all the hard work of these devs to be for absolutely nothin.

I think Federation Force actually looks kinda fun. I've only ever played one or two Metroid games, but I've been trying hard to become more knowledgable of the series and, aside from Samus Aran's exclusion, it looks like a neat game.

They don't have to cancel it. They just need to take Metroid out of the damn name.

I can't really blame Metriod fans for reacting this way. It's been around 5 years since the extremely polarizing Other M was released, and the franchise has been sitting in the water ever since.

What is Metroid? I've never played a Metroid game, and I literally have no idea why Samus Aran needs a Samus suit. What do they fight? What evil villains are there besides Ridley? I literally have no idea how Metroid games usually are, and the only time I ever heard of a Metroid game is Other M, which looked kind of odd. This series doesn't even appeal to me as I don't really know how people can be fans of it or what it's about essentially. The only time I've heard about Samus is in Smash Bros. games.

Also, is it bad the I laughed for like 10 minutes at the Mega64 video? It was extremely funny.

I honestly doubt people would be this upset if they removed Metroid from the title :/ It seriously feels like they pasted the name onto Federation Force just to pull in sales. In fact the game probably wouldn't even sell well without Metroid in the title.

I haven't played any metroid games, but this actually looks worse than the mini games of metroid in Nintendo land. I actually really enjoyed those mini games... This is meant to be a full game, and it definitely doesn't look like it. It also looks way more childish :I And that says a lot compared to everything else Nintendo has made.
