What are some features that you have both positive and negative feelings towards?

I can think of two (one of which got removed in the Welcome Amiibo update):

#1 - Villagers Coming To Your House Unannounced:
There is something about these unannounced/unplanned visits by villagers, who you have a high enough friendship with, that drives me mad, but at the same time makes me SO FREAKING HAPPY! They catch you off-guard. These villagers tend to know when you are, and when you are NOT expexting/thinking about it. What you are worrying/thinking about it, and/or even trying to make it happen by standing in your house for a prolonged period of time, these villagers are like "Nah. I will barge in on them when they are not expecting it. It's more fun that way! >;)"

But when you are NOT expecting it. That's usually when they do it. Like, "SURPSISE, b**ch! >:D". These kinda make me release an anger outburst because that's how I sometimes react to getting caught off-guard. XDDDD

But at the same time, there is something that makes me feel sooooooo happy, euphoric even, about my favorite villager coming to ME for a change, let alone surprising me suddenly like that. It's a "rarer" feature, and I love how there are features that are exclusively with villagers you are close to. Not to mention, they go out of the way to give you a gift, and even if it's not something you want, it's still a sweet gesture! <3

Now, these unplanned visits have happened to me multiple times throughout the 100s of towns I have made and deleted, but tonight I got my first one in Utopia. And I also learned two things during this, rather-odd-timed once, I should say.

So, I had my 3DS closed and sitting on the table behind my bed, while I was just doing other stuff. I decide to get on and I barely see a textbox. I was like, "Oh, God. This is not what I think it is, isn't it? o_o".

IT WAS! o_o Rooney walks right in. I FREAK OUT, because first of all, he was already over at like 2:30PM or 3:00PM (which this one was discussed beforehand), and I thought the same villager could not visit twice in the same day. And second of all, I thought 10:10PM was too late in the day for villagers to barge in on you. I thought after 9:00PM, they couldn't do it anyone that day.

Now, I obviously felt that an "unannounced visit" was coming eventually. I just didn't know that it could happen if:
* The same villager was already over earlier that day
* It was 9:00PM or later
So, I definitely wasn't expecting it, or even thinking about it, when it did happen.

But at the same time, I love that kangaroo more than the game itself, so to have him surprise me like that under odd circumstances really made my night. :,)

#2 - Sick Villagers:
This was (un)fortunately remove in the Welcome Amiibo update. But I though I'd talk about it anyway.

I think we can all agree that seeing our favorite villagers sick is heartbreaking. When this happened, I wanted to Skidoo into my game and give said villager a big hug, without caring if I got sick too.

However, the bonding with them, being able to bring them medicine, and their appreciation was absolutely beautiful. And it was really sweet seeing the other villagers' concern for them as well. Plus it was a nice way to raise friendships with villagers.

i don’t mind the unannounced visits too much - i mean, we do the same to them so why can’t they do it to us lol.

and i didn’t know that sick villagers were removed in the amiibo update :0 i kind of like that feature though so i hope it’s added to new horizons aha

1. I guess you have a point XDDD
And there is another part of me that likes them. ^^ They just catch me off-guard. :ppp
Especially at weird times/under odd circumstances. O_o

2. I honestly agree. I mean, I don't want my favorite villagers to get sick, but taking care of them is a heartwarming experience, and the othre villagers concern for said villager is also really sweet. :,)

This is a really small gripe, but I thought of it recently and now it kinda bugs me- I don't like being able to buy K.K.'s music at the Nook stores.

On the positive side, I like being able to get songs faster and more often. But in the past games, K.K. would say that his music is not for sale since music is too pure to be sold. Now we can just go ahead and buy it when our stores are upgraded enough. I don't know- it sort of ruins the hipster vibe of K.K. and the point of visiting him on Saturday.

I definitely have mixed feelings about it.

I hadn't thought about it like that, but I agree with you. I don't really like buying his music from the shop and try to only obtain songs by listening to him on Saturdays.

oh, i didn't know they took sick villagers out. i was wondering why i didn't see them anymore. i kinda liked looking after them tbh

I definitely agree with the K.K music being at the store.

A feature I?m mixed about is when villagers ask me over, but only a certain time later in the day. I always end up forgetting to be honest! >< I like more when they immediately invite me.

I think mine is swimming? Like I love the idea but the functionality isn?t great and could?ve been better for sure. I also don?t love the unannounced visitors

I agree with this as well. Especially the diving part.
The unannounced visits -- I love and dislike. XPPP

I personally do not mind unannounced visits because I barely spend more than five minutes in my house anyway. And when they do visit, I sometimes leave them hanging just so I could see their textbox saying stuff such as "oh, I guess he's not home" or "fine, I'll head somewhere else" lol. Though it's nice to get those visits and receiving stuff from them, including fruits (no joke, I actually got one before).

Right, so the first thing that gives me mixed emotions are villagers planting flowers. Now that would be nice if you didn't have default flowers to begin with. BUT, if you have hybrids and have a huge amount of flowers like me, it gets tedious and eventually raids my town. I have this similar feeling towards the beautiful town ordinance. There's so many positives with it, but I don't need a bajillion flowers spawning every day.

Yeah, I defnitely agree with the villagers planting flowers part. While it is nice and cute that they wanna help, I do get miffed that they miss up the design and color scheme.

NPCs following you around in stores when you're trying to purchase an item. I find it very annoying (and weird) when shop owners follow you so close behind. I'm just thinking all the while "ok, relax! I'm not going to steal anything, jeez, just set up some cameras if you're that paranoid." I can't imagine customers being very happy if that happened in real life.

coming in unannounced I have mixed feelings about this feature. For one, it's kind of cute that villagers want to visit, but on the other hand imagine your friend barging into your home unannounced when you're trying to unwind from a busy day and saying "Hi, we hang out now". I'd be pissed, aside from having various questions like: #1 How the heck did you get inside my home?! Who gave you keys?! #2 Ever heard of privacy? #3 Do you know what a phone is? They exist in this universe. #4 Do you also do this when I'm asleep, too? don't answer that question.

Beautiful town ordinance makes the game playable (I have little enthusiasm for picking up my older towns and seeing all my work gone), but is also annoying. I'm trying to keep to a certain color palette of white/purple/blue in my town, and the basic red and yellow flowers are just weeds to me.

Rooney barged in on me again today, while I was arraging furniture. O_O

Only this time, I was kinda expecting it.

For some reason, only the snooty and cranky villagers do this to me. O_O
