Hey guys!

Bob has been my favourite villager since the original game, and I currently have him in my second town. I've been waiting to make room in my main town to transfer him over.

Unfortunately, I hadn't played in my 2nd town since Halloween, and even though I TOLD myself 10x not to load my character, I zoned out and just kept clicking A.... and I was informed that Bob is leaving tomorrow.

I don't currently have room in my main town to move him over, but if I keep loading the same day over & over again on my 2nd town (until I do have enough room), will he perpetually stay in boxes?

Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

Yes, he will, as long as you don't go before the 6 am mark, since that will put up into your void, and that's when things get really complicated.

I heard that if you keep loading the same day on 6 am it'll keep him in boxes, I'm sure someone could explain it better than I can :)

Perfect, thanks so much you guys!

Phew, he can be saved!! I almost cried when Isabelle told me he was leaving ;___; (sad I know)

Even if you do go past the 6am mark and accidentally void him, you can still get him into your town if you visit your second town. Villagers that get voided will remain in what's called a "villager pool" while they search for a town with an open spot. So long as the mayor of your second town doesn't visit a full town or gets a visit from someone with a full town, he can be saved either way.

^^ thank you as well!

Appreciate any feedback. I will have to be careful and not forget to keep loading the same day.

Also, it might be annoying but you can always avoid playing in your second town. Make a note of the date and hour of your last save, and when you're ready to transfer over the village, load the game a few minutes later. (I don't know if you can avoid playing in that town or not.)

You can also try to speed up the process of moving out someone from your main town if you're willing to time travel.

Hey - I have a question on this: If you traded Bob to someone else (e.g. me) who has nine villagers, and that person time travelled to the point where Bob was asking to move out, could you come visit and have him move back into your town then?

That's a good point, Laser Beams.

However there are only 2 villagers I am willing to let go in my main town, both of which are rather unfortunate (I was hoping to hold on to them a bit longer), and that means that it's probably going to take a while for me to cycle one of them out.

I can resist playing my 2nd town every single day, but probably not for weeks on end.

I played today (same day) and Bob is still hanging on, so I just gotta be patient now.

Thanks again, everyone :)

You can have him move back, but ONLY if you've had 16 villagers move in/move out of your town since he left. Otherwise he won't move back.

And he might recognize you when you go to the other town to invite him, but when he moves back to your town he acts as if he's never been there before. So "your Bob" isn't really better than someone else's Bob. But for the OP, it's great. He owns both towns, so if Bob moves back and forth the previous mayor can always visit and be recognized:)
