Favorite villagers and why?

Hi everyone. Thought I’d share who my villagers are and a few thoughts on each one. I’d really love to hear who you have on your island and what you think of them.

Diva was my first and I loved her for a year. I planted all my purple roses near her house since she loves that color. She recently asked to move and I gave her the go ahead.

Louie replaced Diva (got him from my bf’s void and I couldn’t be happier.) I just love him and I made him a special area for his rustic log cabin.

Keaton - Is my smug eagle and I adore him. I changed his special greeting to “The eagle has landed”. LOL

Bob - the lazy cat is OK but I’d really like to get Sherb. The bf has him and I’m completely jealous.

Pekoe - is a normal cub and she is quickly becoming my favorite. I love her house and have placed several items around her yard to enhance the look and feel of the area.

Ketchup is a peppy duck and she’s cute but not someone I would work hard to keep on my island.

Merry (peppy cat) is an absolute delight, as is Marshall, the smug squirrel. I placed their homes near one another and I am really loving the area I set up for them.

Tom is a cranky cat and he is hands down my favorite villager. I just want to pet him! LOL

Dierdre just joined us when Merengue moved out (I know she’s very popular but I just didn’t really like her.) Dierdre is another transplant from my bf’s island.

Last, but not least, is Ankha, our snooty cat who loves all things Egyptian and gold. I planted all my gold flowers around her house, found a yellow brick pathway for her and placed a gold harp on her front stoop. Of course, the pyramid and sphinxes are in her area as well.

That’s everyone (other than my other three alternate Me’s: main is Xela, then there’s Asil, Acire and Tak. I’m thinking Acire and Tak are going to start a couple of small businesses out of their homes. Maybe an apothecary and a cafe? Tell me about YOUR villagers and who you love the most/least.

to be honest, i love all my villagers; they’re a great bunch and i’m super blessed to have them. :’)

audie is the villager that i’ve had the longest and she’s one of my all-time favourites! despite having a set list of dreamies, she was the one villager that i was actually desperate to have and i’m still so, so grateful and happy to have her.

even though he was my #1 favourite in new leaf, i at one point decided that i wasn’t going to have beau on my island .. that is, until he showed up during one of my island hopping sessions LOL. i’m honestly,, not as attached to him as i was back in my new leaf days but i still love him a lot.

margie was an unexpected dreamie of mine but after seeing her in the new horizons direct that took place last year, i fell in love and i feel so silly for sleeping on her for so many years. >_< she’s such a gorgeous gal and i love her to pieces.

whitney is one of my favourite villagers, too but initially, i had planned to have diana as my snooty. however, when i ran into her while island hopping one day, i knew that i couldn’t leave her behind and it didn’t take long for me to become attached to her aha.

i’ve also got sprinkle, who was the result of my longest island hopping session thus far (70+ nmts). she’s a dreamie of mine and i love her so, so much - her interior is lowkey,, not great but she’s precious and i’d die for her.

fuchsia was my initial uchi dreamie but after some thought, i decided to go with agnes instead. ,, that is, until i ran into fuchsia while island hopping and i literally just. could not leave her behind and now she’s permanent on my island. i’ve also got pashmina, who i adore with all my heart but once i get her photo, i may let her move out. i haven’t decided yet haha.

and lastly, i’ve got cleo, sherb and pietro, who are my newest villagers! they may or may not be permanent but they’re amazing and i’m super excited to have them around!

 

[Blueskyy]

Aurora is my favorite because she was and still is in my GameCube town from when I was like 11/12. I always considered her sweet and I loved her design, so she’s been that once villager that’s special to me.

Reneigh is a new one that’s special just because she started off my New Horizons journey with me and still is with me. I really enjoy her!

Bones was a random island hunt find, but I couldn’t pass him up. Besides his basic, cute design, his personality fits the personality of a friendly, loyal dog. I never want him to leave my island.

Murphy was a cranky that I had in New Leaf. Something about his deep voice in his small bear cub body is funny. He’s more of a friendly lad than a grumpy dad though.

Dom was a random move in, but he’s my permanent jock. Usually it’s Bill, but I love Dom’s faces. He is the first sheep I truly want around.

Marty is a newer move in. I had an old card so moved him in. I love him more than the other Sanrio villagers. I love the bear cubs and I also enjoy the lazy villagers, so he’s always great.

Judy is one of two snooties I have. I love her because she’s a bit of a creep lol. She looks deceptively sweet, but her eyes show a little mischief. Despite that, she’s pretty friendly and motherly, while also singing. All the time. Everywhere.

Bea was another island hunt find. She’s a sweet dog with a lot more chill energy than Bones. She’s such a sweet addition to my island, so I’m happy I found her.

Annalise and Maddie are both new move ins. I moved in Annalise because I like the horses and love her colors. She has always been one of my underrated favorites. I moved in Maddie because she’s my peppy dog of choice (sorry Cookie)! I enjoy her natural look more.

so far i have 8 permanent residents, they're never leaving:

poppy - liked her since i was younger, just think she's cute and has a super pleasant design. the normal personality is also perfect for her. probably my favorite villager overall.

bianca - i love snow leopards irl so i happily took bianca onto my island. she quickly became one of my favorites.

lolly - first animal crossing character i ever saw, her design is super simple but it works, she's so cute and sweet.

filbert - my son......would protect him with my life, he's so dumb i love him

fang - i enjoy dressing him up in the black vampire costume, i also ship him with freya, they're like an old married couple

raymond - purely took him because i knew he was popular and well-liked, he ended up growing on me though

freya - she has a really pretty design, she's a permanent resident but sometimes i forget she exists tbh...

bam - best jock by far, especially love the dots on the back of his head...cute....

in terms of the final 2 spots, still trying to decide which characters i want to become permanent residents.

Here's Mine:

Carmen- My #1 favorite villager and my best friend. I love her so much!

Poppy- One of my fave villagers. I don't know why, but she (and her dress) reminds me of Maria from The Sound of Music. Other than that, I love her design!

Whitney- She was okay at first. Now, I like her thanks to Animal Crossing: The Movie. Also, she is cool and rich snooty wolf lol.

Chadder- His design is nice because he resembles a cheese and I am a cheese lover. Like Whitney, he is cool and rich.

Spork- He is sweet and nice lazy pig. I sometimes nickname him Sporky haha.

Frita- I love her resemblance of a hamburger and fries. She is great!

Filbert- He is wonderful and his house has a bit of space theme, which is cool!

Sprinkle- Cute and energetic peppy penguin! I love her cute design!

Peaches- Sweet normal horse. Her eyes don't bother me to be honest, and pink is one of my favorite colors.

Coach- The coolest jock in my island! He is nice, strong, and ready to compete in sporting events haha.

My island currently has 8 permanent villagers and 2 temporary ones though I do really love all 10 of them:

Fauna is my favourite villager in the game, her design may be a bit plain compared to some others but I've always thought she's really lovely and one of the cutest villagers to me in the series, if I only kept one villager it would definitely be her.

Wolfgang, a recent move-on to my island, has always held a special place in my heart from been one of my favourites back when I played Wild World, I'd decided very early on that I wanted him as a permanent villager but only found him a couple of weeks ago. For me the wolves as a whole are probably the best species in the game as I love all of them but he's the top one for me for the nostalgia and because I really like his blue and yellow colour scheme, plus the cranky personality makes him seem like a big softie when he makes friends.

Diana is a villager I picked up quite early in the game while island hopping and I wasn't sure at first on whether to keep her but I quickly fell in love, her little spots of purple are simple but really pretty and she always seems like a very elegant villager, especially with the Roman Goddess background and theme

Sherb was the villager I wanted most out of the new ones added in NH and while it took quite a while to find it was definitely worth the time, his design is simple and there isn't really anything interesting about it but he still looks really cute to me and blue is my favourite colour and his shade is lovely, he's my favourite lazy villager (closely followed by Erik)

Molly is another villager that took a long time to find while island hopping but I'm really glad I was finally able to get her for my island, she's adorable and really innocent looking and I love seeing her waddling around the island

Raymond is a villager I've had from quite early on, I hadn't been looking for him but was running out of NMTs when I found him so decided I'd see what he was like and he quickly became a permanent resident. I love cats in general and really like the smug personality and he is the only cat in the game that reminds me of one of my own which makes him special for me.

Judy was also picked up early on due to a shortage of NMTs but I didn't think I'd like her as I usually don't like villagers with 'odd' eyes but now I've grown to love her and accept the sparkly eyes, her pastel colours are really pretty and she looks like a sweet beanie baby

Bunnie is my favourite rabbit in the game and one of my favourite peppies, her bright colour scheme is pretty and I feel it suits an island theme nicely, I'm pretty sure she's a permanent one for me but can't decide whether to swap her with Rosie or have two peppies

Bea, the newest villager on the island, is a really cute villager and one of my favourite dogs in the game as her colour scheme matches nicely with one of my own dogs as well as one of my childhood pets, she isn't permanent though as I already have 2 normal villagers but I do like her and am trying to get her photo before I let her leave

Cookie is another dog I really like in the game and her pink and white colours make her really pretty but I've had her quite a long time now and received her photo a while ago so am ready for her to leave so I can try out another villager

not all my favourites are on my island, like katt, carmen and wolf link but here's my favourites who are on my island

judy
i wanted judy the second i saw her, she is the cutest villager i've ever seen and i judt adore her, she is actual perfection and i'm so happy to have her on my island

raymond
i literally couldn't play if raymond wasn't on my island, i've had him since april i think, i can't quite remember but anyway he is such an incredible villager and i love him

kyle
i got kyle's amiibo last year in the last amiibo pack i bought and i forgot about it for a while then recently moved him onto my island because i was bored and he reminded me of haida from aggretsuko, anyway i instantly decided to make him a permanent villager because he is so cool!

chai
i have been obsessed with chai for years, i had her on NL and she was my favourite sanrio character until i got chelsea but i still love chai, she'll always be the best elephant

chelsea
so i had chelsea on NL too but tbh i didn't pay attention to her until i got her in NH
she's such a cutie, just love her so much and i'm so glad i could get her on NH

rilla
i'm not the biggest fan of gorilla villagers, i only like 3 tbh, but rilla is one of the prettiest villagers i've ever seen and i love talking to her everyday

i also have etoile, marty, toby & blanche and i really like them all but they're just not my favourites
plus i'm about to replace blanche with pashmina

Most of my favorite are in my town right now. Most of my villagers no one likes, but I do.

Rodeo:
Honestly , I think he is underrated. I’m so glad I gave him a chance. I don’t usually like bulky villagers, but Rodeo is just spectacular. I have him wearing suits, and he looks so dashing.


Barold:
I don’t know why everyone thinks he is creepy. He is adorable. He just needs a bit of makeover. Just remove his leopard suit and he looks great.

Raddle:
His design is so well done and definitely fits my aesthetics. His appearance resembles a poisonous frog, however he is a doctor. He is supposed to be healing, but his touch is poisonous. Kind of creepy. Also he looks so tiny and cute in game. He also matches with the pandemic. He is an essential villager.

Nan, Agnes, Mathilda:
I don’t have much to say about these three, but they are definitely all super cute. They are the best looking girl villagers in the whole game. I’ve had them all in new leaf. It never crossed my mind to not bring them back to new horizon.

Elmer is one of my favourites. I love most of the horse villagers, and I was always fan of Elmer ever since he showed up in my campsite back in NL. Completely forgot he existed, but I was so relieved when I saw him

And while these next two villagers aren't in New Horizons (yet), W. Link and Epona are some of my favourites simply because they are Zelda villagers and I LOVE the Zelda franchise. I'm really really hoping that Nintendo will drop these villagers back in the game sometime this year

 

[The Loyal Rat]

I’ve got so many favs haha, I had to buy amiibo cards for 9 of my villagers cause I needed my favs! But I will keep it to the cream of the crop so to speak so I don’t have a wall of text.

Bob: This guy has such a dazed look to him all the time, just from a glance you can tell this guy is such a dork! Everytime I talk to him he just seems to make me smile and laugh with his nonsense, dude is the best!

Chrissy: The cutest villager in the game in my view, her and Francine! There was point when I didn’t play the game for half of the year it was out, and during that time Chrissy had sent me like 20 different letters varying from praising me, to asking how I was, and one was a valentines gift as well. It made me feel like everybody had thought I wasn’t coming back, but she clung to the hope I would be back, and I did come back!
