Pokémon Favorite starter for Ruby/Sapphire?

Though I have a nostalgia attachment towards Treecko.

I thought it would be Torchic

I'm choosing Treecko this time around. I chose Mudkip with the first games, but I don't like the evolutions. And I've never liked Torchic.

I'm choosing Treeko.
For one, he is adorable.
Two, Treeko has an amazing mega. In terms of its design, at least.
Three, I already have had a Mega Blaziken from the event, and I don't want another one. Mega Swampert just looks too bulky to me. No offense, Swampert, but you just went from kinda cute to kinda ugly.
Four, I tend to choose Fire or Grass types. In my SS game, I chose Cyndaquil. For my Black and Black 2 game, I chose Serperior. For X, I chose Delphox. And for Alpha Sapphire, I'm choosing Treeko.
Five, I feel like Grass type starters are under-appreciated. I don't battle competitively, so what do I care about choosing certain Pokemon just because of their stats? Sure, I get it- you wanna be the very best. I just want to have fun in the game and trade other people for their shinies, which I think are awesome.

I used Mudkip in Emerald, but I do not like mega Swampert. I think I will pick Treeko this time. I think Groyle is the coolest of his evolutions, but mega Sceptile looks pretty cool too. Though Cacturne is in this game and I love to battle with him.

the water types have and always been the best. Mudkip is my favorite starter out of all. Mudkip for the win

If I remember correctly, when I play the original Sapphire I picked Torchic for my starter.
I really want to start with Torchic, I love fire Pokemon and I'm getting Omega Ruby lol but a couple friends and I at work are going to be getting the games (I think 2 of us are getting Ruby and 1's getting Sapphire) so I may wind up starting with someone else.

I never use the starters once trading becomes available, so I'll prob pick Torchic or possibly Mudkip to see me through until then. Can't wait to bring my new play-through team over and explore/swim through the new Hoenn

Treecko for me. Which is weird for me since I normally don't like the grass starters at all (except for Chikorita, who is actually my all-time favourite starter). I think he looks super chill. I didn't play ruby/sapphire until after the really annoying "do u liek mudkipz" meme and I think that kind of ruined Mudkip for me, although Swampert's water/ground is interesting. But I'm looking forward to Mega Sceptile.
