What's your favorite personality and what's your favorite villager of that personality?
What's your least favorite personality?
I think aesthetically, normal villagers have the best looking and the most popular ones in most cases. They have so many cute ones like Merengue, Lily, Marina, Maple, Coco, Flurry, Fauna and more! Normal villagers are the sweetest and easiest to get along with.
However, they tend to be the most lackluster in personality for me too. They are so overly nice that they kinda are meh to me. Kinda like when you make an aquaintence that never gets past the aquaintence phase in friendship. I wanna goof off and talk about the weird stuff! Not feel constantly stuck in small talk and chit chat. Other than that, I do have favorite normal villagers, but for me its more because they're cute and nothing else. I really love Merengue and Maple!

Tl;dr normal villagers are a double whammy for me as favorite and least favorite for different things!

Lazy villagers are my favorite. They are nice to talk to, and the personality has some of my favorite villagers, such as Alfonso.

It's a tossup between lazy and smug for me because they have my favorite villager dialogue in the game.Colton is my favorite smug and Joey is my favorite lazy.I don't really have a least favorite personality type.

I like the lazy ones too! Possibly my 2nd favorite. Pap? is my favorite of them all. They have the most aesthetically pleasing for male villagers.

Does that mean you're a fan of cranky villagers? I don't often hear anyone say the love the cranky ones. But I like them. They're the grouchy grandpas everyone needs!
Lazy and smug are cool too. They're also the same tier for me, but I think I like lazy a little bit more. Joey is so freaking cute!
 
My favorite personality is cranky. I have loved them since the original GameCube game and, even though they've been toned down quite a bit in New Leaf, they are still my favorite. I love their grumpy attitudes and like working to earn their friendship. Their deep voices are also my favorite of all the voices. So far, I haven't met a cranky villager that I haven't fallen in love with.

I don't really have a least favorite, but if I have to pick, I would say jock. I like all the personalities, and I love when the jocks call me "ladybro", but their dialog overall gets repetitive to me so that I wouldn't want more than one in a town at a time.
 
I like a mix of all of them as it eases any repetitiveness the game I feel is pretty notorious for. If I had to choose a favorite however it would have to be both Peppy, and Cranky as they meet that very contrast that make things interesting.

I was just saying how not many people appreciate Crankies! Before I had even owned acnl, I had stumbled across a Tumblr blog about this persons love for Cyrano the cranky anteater, and it was that blog that made me appreciate them AND convinced me to buy acnl. This goes without saying, but Cyrano is my favorite Cranky because of it. Haha.
I had him in a previous town and I had Drake the duck. Drake asked me to find Cyrano to come over and hang and once I got them together, Cyrano essentially said he wasn't Drake's friend, and to not invite him over again. Drake was depressed for the longest time, and moved out later that week. Hahahaha.
By far the most interesting interaction I've ever experienced between 2 villagers! He occasionally made me laugh so hard because he was simply so mean and sassy about other villagers.
And that's why everyone needs a cranky. xD

Snooty are really low on my list. I just don't have good luck with them. I've had Diana and Tipper and they came off so sassy in a bad attitude/I'm better than you kind of way that I couldn't really enjoy keeping them for long. Which is sad because I like the way some of them look! I know they get better over time but Tipper really hurt my feelings one too many times lol. I'm holding a grudge.

I also like that you had to work more to earn their friendship (at least in the older games.) Their cranky attitudes also makes me think grouchy grandpa which is another reason to like them. My ones favorite from this category are: Hamphrey because he's short, cute and the deep voice is unsuitably funny. Doby because he looks like a grandpa,
chow because he's a pink panda, kabuki because he looks cool, apollo because he was in the movie and also looks cool, rooney and walt because they remind me of an old coach, octavian and rolf because I once had them in one of my old towns, and lobo and wolfgang because they're also cool. I wouldn't mind having anyone of those cranky villagers in my town.

My second favorite personality would probably be jock, snooty or lazy.

Jocks are also funny sometimes, especially when they have conversations with snooty characters.

Snooty characters are sassy (or at least they more so in the past installments) so they can be entertaining too

And lazy personalities are just so chill amd relaxed which I like. :)

Normal characters do have the cutest villagers but I they don't have much to say in New Leaf. (Then again, most of them don't in New Leaf.)
I liked talking to normal villagers in *Wild World or the GCN versions. Hopefully they'll go back to saying more things in Horizon.

Yup,I have a bunch of crankies in my towns.Gaston,Wart Jr. and Static are my favorites.

Ahh! I never thought I would like Wart Jr. but I do! I thought he was super ugly at first but he really grew on me. I don't have him anymore but I like getting to see him in my shopping district from time to time.

I'm glad we agree on so many things! Hamphrey is arguably the cutest of the crankies, and I completely forgot about Octavian! He already got that grumpy look to boot.
I don't really know I feel about the Jocks. I kinda only like Genji, since he was one of my original neighbors in my very first town. The fact he's says otaku too also resonates with me since I like to think I'm an otaku myself xD. Though I think he just means he's an excercise otaku (hobbyist).
Lazies personalities are amazing! But sometimes they really are a little too lazy. I.e. Stitches being constantly late or forgetting home visits sometimes.
I wish Normals were a little more interesting but I feel if they were, they wouldn't be normal. Being cute just makes them fun to look at but sometimes I really can't stand talking to them. So boring!

My favourite ones, though, are Snooty villagers. They start to really feel like true friends when you get to know them. That's what made me start liking Amelia.

I'd say that Cranky villagers are my least favourite. Their grouchy nature annoys me.

Well, I love how cute most of the Normals are and if anything, I always end up having too many and not having much room for anyone else. I just want to experience them all! But I also tend to forget about them the most because their personality is just nice on nice and its hard to pique my interest with mundane chit chat.
Sometimes I wish we could set up a villagers personality like Neopets, haha. But I can understand that a lot of folks have attachments to certain villagers because of both their looks and personality.
 
It's pretty much a three way tie for me between normals, crankies, and lazies.

Lazy are such a classic, I think especially when you grow up with the game, they come across as the most likable. And they feature a lot of the more unique designs.

Normals are pretty safe in my heart! Most have houses that make sense, look like real animals or are absolutely adorable, and I love that they're awake at 6am. I usually play throughout the ams, so only get to interact with my normals and crankies super often. They're also such positive mom friends! :)

Crankies grow on you, they really do. I think in NL, they've become my favorites. I love going through their friendship levels and dialogue the most. Their voices are off-putting in a funny way, and I typically enjoy their houses and look forward to visiting so I can steal some of it. I also relate most with them and their dialogue, and they're probably far too nice to be "crankies" lol. I've never had a cranky say anything mean.
 
Uchi is definitely my favorite! I?m a fan of the spunky, stylish and fiesty girls. They?re funny as well, and the interior of their houses are usually aesthetically pleasing.
In both of my towns, uchi villagers are my favorite - cherry in one, and Katt in the other. I look forward to talking to them every day!

Least favorite - definitely snooty and jock
 
I like cranky the most. I like the way they act and some of my favorite villagers having this personalty. Although I don't like the fact that they watered down cranky villagers so much in New Leaf, I like them the most in the previous games, as they representing their personality much better (like, being "more rude").

Second favorite would be uchi. I find them quite funny from their behavior.
