Fashion Check TT Question, Thanks!

Ooookay, Gracie's finally back in my town. I hadn't done a *whole* lot before going to see her. I think I saved the game before talking to her; not sure. And not sure if that matters.

I'm still not quite clear on how time travel works in AC. Too much Doctor Who in conjunction with this has me confused. I've been doing some reading, though.

I've ordered clothing for my first fashion check (Cute).

It is currently quarter-to-noon in actuality, and in the game. Can I do this? ...

1. TT forward to after 5PM, get my clothing delivery, dress in the Cute outfit I just ordered, pass Gracie's check

2. Save, then TT back to yesterday, then forward to today (not sure why I couldn't just TT back to this very morning, but this is what I read), get Gracie to give me another theme, pass it in the same way

3. TT and repeat until I've passed 4 fashion checks

Will that work, or am I about to make a stupid, time-consuming mistake? Sadly, this hit on a rather busy day as well. I want the fashion checks OVER!

I have like one friend who TTs all the time -- and she's not around today or I could ask her and not bug y'all. Thanks in advance!

You can TT to 5pm to get your outfit and pass the fashion check.
Then Save & Quit.
No need to got back to yesterday and then back to today.
Just change your time to before 6am. If you are doing it thru your 3ds clock (and not Isabelle) give yourself some extra time to load up the game and get thru the talk with Isabelle before you come out of your house before 6am. Maybe try 5:56am or something. Just be sure to come out of your house before 6am and stand there until the clock changes to 6am and a new day begins in AC. Gracie will be at the plaza then, so go get your next theme. Rinse & Repeat.
Good Luck.

But if you have trunips, they will spoil.

Perhaps you could also TT to 5pm get clothing pass.
Save and TT to tomorrow and back to today, she will be there pass and so on until you complete all four.

I passed my first then TTd to next day and back until I passed all four fashion checks. The funny thing is Gracie kept saying it had been long since she last saw me, lol.

NB: I kept talking to my villagers in case they packed their belonging and left while I was Tting to and fro!

Eek... is there any chance someone would move if you're only leaping around within a 24-36 hour span??? I thought it'd take longer than that... so could I do all 4 checks, and THEN run around and make sure nobody's leaving that I want to keep?

I just got rid of someone I was happy to be rid of... and there are a couple more I want to shake, so I'm trying to be cautious. I'm deathly afraid that, having seen my former Beardo in a friend's town the other day, he might try to move BACK.

Also... it's okay to just change the clock via Isabelle, right? Seems like a hassle to change the whole DS. (I have no turnips.)

If you are afraid of losing someone, just be sure to talk to them or give them a chance to 'ping' you before you TT each time. I lost Curlos this way, because I forgot to talk to him for a couple of the TT backs.

Yikes. Okay. Um... If I just go back to before 6AM, can I THEN travel to after 10AM so I can access the kiosk at the store to buy the clothes, then TT to past 5 to pass the fashion check, and then repeat until done? As long as I talk to everybody I can?

Edit: See, this is what confuses me about TT. I did my first fashion check, saved, and quit. Then went back to this morning just before 6AM. When I emerge from the house, I'm wearing my Cute ensemble that already passed the first check. At before 6AM this morning, I didn't own these clothes. I will NEVER understand TT, not in any setting, lol.

Thank you folks very much. I got through all four. And don't seem to have lost anybody (still hoping I might've lost someone I didn't WANT).

Sometimes you just need someone to hold your virtual hand for a few minutes. :)

Oh, and adding: It took me a little over 2 hours to finish. It was pretty simple, since I've been buying a LOT of clothes (and re-selling them) since I figured out Gracie would be a necessary thing...

So to help anyone else who's really new to this, here's what I did:

Gracie showed up in the square... so I talked to her and got the assignment (first one was Cute).

I went to the catalog kiosk in the store and went to the Clothing section. On my computer, I went to Thonky's Gracie Fashion Check page, and started comparing items in Thonky's Cute list to what's in my catalog, finding (and then buying) one match in each category (shirt, pants, shoes, accessory, etc.) and buying like 4 items from the Cute collection -- that seemed sufficient. Then save/quit.

Then I time-traveled to after 5PM the same day, to bring in the mail, which contained the clothes I just bought. Changed into them, walked out to see Gracie, and passed the Fashion check. Save/quit.

Then I TT'd, as Rendra said, to just a few minutes before 6AM that same morning. (All this time-travel takes place within ONE calendar day. And I just used Isabelle to TT.)

Wait 'til after 6AM, consult Gracie to get the assignment for the 2nd fashion check. Save/quit.

TT to after 10AM, so you can go through checking Thonky and the clothes in your catalog again to choose stuff for your 2nd assignment. (CHECK the Thonky chart at the top to make sure you don't clash clothing types, and when you change clothes, make sure you don't accidentally wear Official socks under your Rock & Roll shoes, for example. Gracie likes it if you mix it up a little, but the Thonky chart tells you what absolutely NOT to mix.)

Save/quit, then TT to just past 5PM that same day. Change into your assigned outfit and go pass your next fashion check.

Repeat this until you've passed 4 fashion checks. She'll tell you she's gonna open her store at that point.

When I went back to my normal time after completing everything, Gracie had disappeared from the square.

Also, per advice here, I ran around a lot to make sure I talked to villagers I wanted to keep. An awful lot of them had requests! Get me a "rice cricket"? (Never heard of it, so I turned that one down), get me a piece of perfect fruit, let me come over to your house and annoy you for awhile, set up an appointment for later, etc. Even my nice Normals were demanding. I wonder if they know when you're TTing and try to mess you up...

Glad you passed all four fashion checks. It is a pain talking to your villagers, so you don't lose any, but if you didn't then someone might have been in boxes and you would have wished you had taken the time beforehand.
Congrats on passing, and getting it done all in one day.
