Fantasy Life download version keeps crashing?

S I got this game yesterday, and after maybe an hour or so's gameplay on one file it crashed. I restarted it, but then it crashed again, about 20 minutes in. Then, I restarted again, but the game crashed after about 2 minutes.

it tells me that an error has occurred, and tells me to restart. I don't want to uninstall the game as I do not want to lose my progress. Can someone help?

I would say to just call Nintendo because I downloaded it about a year ago and it has never crashed for me. Sorry. :/

Have you tried to repair download via Nintendo eShop? Head to that game on eShop, scroll all the way down until you find a button that repairs download. That's the first thing to do, but it does take a long while to do so.

Otherwise, the most likely scenario of constant game crashing is that your 3DS system could be defective, just like my old Ice White Japanese 3DS struggled playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf with its occasional crashes, whereas every other Japanese 3DS model I own seemed to play just fine even during prolonged hours. In that case, it's time to call your Nintendo rep about your issue.
