So it's looking like Fallout 4 may be announced at or around the VGA's in a few weeks.
We have http://thesurvivor2299.com/

and Bethesda has trademarked Fallout 4 in Europe.

The morse code on the countdown site has changed.

It used to spell out 11/12/13, which the countdown proved to be Dec, 11, 2013.

But now the morse code spells out CQ, CQ, CQ, DE, OZ, PSE, AS.
Which is shorthand for "Calling any station. Calling any station. Calling any station. This is OZ. Please stand by."

If any of you played Fallout 3, you'll remember that there is a radio station called Oscar Zulu.

So it looks like Fallout 4 is taking place on the East Coast. To be honest I kind of hope that it's not the Capitol Wasteland, but maybe further north or south.

You haven't read any rumors, eh?

OMG I'm so hyped! I've probably said it a thousand times but the Fallout series is by far my favorite I've ever played. Sure they aren't the greatest games but to me they took everything I fear and love and smashed it together and ended up with the end of the world.

I highly doubt it will be in the Capital wasteland, probably a little further north but I can believe that we might get to visit the capital wasteland for a DC or something. I'm just curious how the story is going to pan out.

i too am jumping on board the hype bandwagon....i cant cntain myself when it comes to Fallout. *hugs for everyone*

I was about to cry when I found out that thesurvivor2299.com turned out to be a hoax. I'm surprised that Bethesda let the site run as long as it did. Considering they were suing Mojang for even using the word "scrolls".

Yeah I kinda figured it was a hoax but I am baffled at Bethesda for letting it run. Either way, I'm still hyped for a Fallout 4 because we all know it's coming. I just can't wait until they actually announce it!

Pretty sure Bethesda weren't the ones suing for scolls, it was their parent company Zenimax.

Got to it before I could, but yeah.

It's not an actual announcement, but it proves that Bethesda is working on a new Fallout game set in Boston.

I'd also like to remind you guys that the countdown that was on the hoax site, counted down to the 11th.
Which is when this stuff was leaked. ;D

Oh, good, so the rumor from ages ago was confirmed.

In 2012, rumors circulated that Bethesda employees were scouting the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston for an upcoming Fallout game, but other than that, news has been thin.

Casting calls for both the male and female versions of the player character note that the player begins the game in a cryogenic sleep chamber.
Now THIS is very interesting, making it so that we were someone who survived the war. We'll wake up in rubble. Just like in Idiocracy. My only question is, how is the player character going to be in any fighting condition? The only other character that survived the war in their human, pre-war form (ghouls don't count) is Mr. House, and look what happened to him.

Reading the comments reminds me of something. I hope that there is a bit more plant life in the game. It's been a hundred years, there should be SOMETHING growing. Grass, or whatever.

Also I'd love to go to China.

I doubt they are going to explain how the player is going to be in fighting condition. Look at all the previous Fallout games they never explained how are you the grim reaper. Hell, look at New Vegas you took a bullet to the head then a doctor patched you right up and somehow that made you even better. Also I doubt Fallout will ever go to China because in Fallout games it's all about the decaying of society in the united states. While it might be possible to go to china for a mission or DLC, I doubt they are going make a Fallout games solely based in China.

No, I know they would never do one solely in China, and I would hate it if they did. I'd just love SOME sort of mission or DLC featuring China, just to see what it's like over there and how bad it is.

It's not an impossible suggestion. I mean..

in Fallout 3 we got transported onto an alien spaceship. =p

And the cryogenic thing is funny. I wrote a crappy short story once based in the fallout universe where the main character had been woken up from a cryogenic sleep. I really hope that part sticks on into the final stages of development. Because anything we hear now can and likely will be changed way down the line.

Cryogenic sleep...That sounds very interesting! Everything would be so strange and "new" to you yet so familiar. That's so in line with valt-tec and their crazy experiments too!

And there WAS Point Lookout, which apparently made a month of game time pass to travel to and from it.

Which certainly proves that they have no problem making a lot of time pass.

For reference, the closest landmark in the game to the Riverboat landing is Arlington Library. The distance from the Arlington Library to Point Lookout State Park is 84.1 miles. Which takes exactly 30 days to travel. Extending this to the West Coast and China, in New Vegas, the western-most point in the game that I could get a location on Google Maps is Mt. Charleston. So, it's 6,230 miles from Mt. Charleston to Beijing.

Assuming the same ratio, and that there would be enough food, water, gas, etc...

That's 2,220 days, which equates to 6 years.
