Did you know that the word "Nintendo" actually means "Leave luck to heaven"

Feel free to post any facts you may know about Nintendo. :lemon:

It's fairly easily findable information, but Nintendo was established in the 19th century, 1889, as a card making company.

The technology in the controllers for the Wii and Wii U (the gryo parts) were originally intended to be used to pilot aircraft.

It didn't take off the way the guy wanted, so he took it to Sony and Microsoft with the intentions of it being used for gaming. Microsoft was incredibly rude about it (no surprise) and Sony just didn't think it was the direction they should take. The guy went to Nintendo and obviously, the Wii happened and sold a metric **** ton, allowing Nintendo to swim in money like Scrooge McDuck.

The eject button on the Super Famicom and the SNES does absolutely nothing other than pop the cartridge up, it doesn't actually need to be used to safely eject a game. This was done so that removing games could be fun.

The GameCube has the potential for 3D graphics. In fact, a special 3D contraption was going to be released, intended to be played with Luigi's Mansion, but the technology would have costed more than the console itself, so the concept was dropped.

DS was originally the code name and stood for "Developing System" ,but due to how much the press referred to it as "dual screen", they decided to jeep it as DS.

What do you mean? The Gamecube had 3D graphics, or am I misunderstanding you?
