Pretty damn awesome set-up you got there

@Linux: lol. I'm not a mac fanboy, but OSX is definitely better than Linux.

if you don't mind paying an arm and a leg, sure apple/windows is better than linux, if you don't know what you're doing.
linux is the god of OS', to be blunt. there's so many variants, I think it'd be safe to say there's at least one version that can trump pretty much anything another OS could offer. (bar maybe apple's mac-only video editing, which is a ******** monopoly IMO) i wish i would work it well/had a reason to use it.
on-topic, i wouldn't necessarily call that nerdy.

at my old house, i've moved since these pictures. when i had/used a laptop, i used my TV as an alternate output, like you did/are doing. then i got a desktop, and it's all gravy from there. *censored.3.0* year TV monitor for PC gaemin.
I loved how i felt when i used my laptop screen for controls and TV screen for watching videos, feels very sophisticated. if only my laptop had the specs of your pricey one.
i've been considering buying another monitor just for *censored.2.0*s and giggles, but it's unnecessary.
i had my laptop on a collapsible tray, the first two pictures is when i had used the laptop. last one is pc/desktop. and then i realized i had my desktop/pc in all of them. eh.
i don't use the speakers anymore, as i realized (after buying a male-to-male audio cable) that the tv can be used as speakers. oh ho!
messy room, messy me. the "desk" is awesome, due to i can scratch it to all hell and it doesn't really matter, which means i can write on it

congrats, it's always a great feeling when you learn of something yourself.
