Extending the life of your silver axe

I have been using my silver axe (thanks for the axe, LillyKay+) to get patterned stumps, but wanted to extend the life of the silver axe, so I use a regular axe to do the first two chops of the tree, then switch to the silver axe and then do the final chop.

This should extend the the life of my silver axe by three times.

So far so good!

I've never gotten a silver axe... went straight from regular to gold o.o

The point of the silver ax is to get special tree stumps

This is what I do too. Makes the silver axes last so much longer. :3

Use the gold for 2 chops and than the silver for the last chop.
The silver don't last that long.

That's what I do. ^^ The silver breaks quicker than the regular, if I'm not mistaken.
