My special little pluff of white squirrel fur, Marshal, happens to spot me this evening while I'm kicking up paths in town. (Too much invested in house payments and furniture to think about selling it all right now, going to landscape and try to find someone to help me.) And pings me to ask if I could find something a little less boring for his home than his green wardrobe.
Now granted, we haven't talked very much in the days past, maybe a spot here or there. I've been rather busy with the town, my three houses, all almost fully upgraded, furnishing and refurbishing for said houses, and haven't given much attention to many of the villagers. I see them, they see me, they visit Re-Tail, I visit, they buy, etc.
So getting back to the story, the first thing I decide to give Marshal is my Pave end table. The one I used to keep his picture on that I purchased, but am going to put it somewhere else. He likes the gift and takes it with gratitude, and then remembers he has to return the favor to me.

A Black Katana.
I can't place my finger on it, but my Retail senses are telling me this isn't just an average everyday item.
I go look up the price, and I'm a bit taken aback. This little number he just handed over doesn't come cheap. To think I'm worth that price to him though really happened to touch my heart.
Then again, I shouldn't be surprised. This particular squirrel of mine is infamous for always finding and rewarding or randomly sending me nice, well thought out, and meaningful presents that I actually keep. None of that, traffic cone nonsense or what have you. <3 I just wanted to share this, because it completely made my day.
I'm going to display this in my Mayor's house whether it fits her cutesy theme or not.
Have any of you ever had these sort of experiences?
(I'll still never forget the time, to this day, in ACGC when Pango offered me a whopping 49,000+ bells to purchase my Parquet Floor. My young self sat there agape for about a good ten-fifteen minutes thinking the game had dun goofed in the algorithms somehow, but heartily accepted her offer. Good times.)
