I'm quiet excited about this new IP but I'm afraid it might end in the same road as The Wonderful 101...

what about you?

Wasn't originally hyped because their overhype at E3 actually caused the opposite effect for me, and I was sick of hearing about the game for a few months. However, recently I'm feeling a bit more confident in the game. It seems like it will feature a fairly wide cast of characters, which means more people to eventually beat each other up as in Smash 5 an engaging story and a memorable game experience!

I'm extremely excited for it. I have been ever since they announced it. Shooter-type games have always tended to repulse me for the blood and gore and general "just kill people" mentality, plus the trend of using dull and earthy colors for a lot of the settings. Nintendo has created something that looks fun, colorful, and encourages teamwork as well as strategy beyond things like camping to snipe someone, etc. Plus, it doesn't look like it's merely targeting the male demographic---heck, the main characters in it are squid girls.

I'm really looking forward to it and I'm so happy that they're going to have fully working online play. It's going to suck up my hours and time like nothing, I'm sure, but I welcome it.

Finally a shooter that really appeals to me.

It looks to be the first multiplayer shooter in years that is actually new.

The fact that it's colorful as hell helps, since that's usually the part that puts me off shooters...They often have dull color pallets.
Despite the fact it has both gender options, it's nice that they're giving the main character status to the female as Wii U games so far are pretty male orientated...My game shelf is an utter sausage fest right now.

I wasn't that hyped at first since it just looked like another shooter, but with paintballs and mess...I was likely going to buy it since it's a new Nintendo IP (gotta try 'em all), but I wasn't really bursting with excitement.

But once I've looked into it and found that you can 'swim' in the paint, it's an arena shooter that actually promotes teamwork (teamwork in a shooter? MADNESS!) and ultimately the fact that it has character customization has sold me. It sounds really fun and unique. It's likely going to replace Monster Hunter as my multiplayer game I sink too much time into.

Nope. Honestly it looks like a game targeted towards 10 year olds and doesn't interest me at all.

says the person who plays animal crossing

What does that have to do with anything? A game can be targeted to whatever age group it wants, if it interest me, then I'll play it.
Splatoon, right now, doesn't interest me at all, so I don't want it.

Animal Crossing does, making the target age irrelevant to me, which is why I play it.
