Have you ever had that one villager you thought you wouldn't like for whatever reasons, but then you actually decide to give said villager a chance and started to like them?
Normally, I'm not a huge fan of the monkey villagers, mostly because their design never really appeal to me. And yet I'm thinking about it to give Elise at chance, mainly because she starts to remind me of a character I like from a TV show. And from all the monkeys, she's the one which I find kinda cute overall?
yes!!! specifically with stinky and also moose!!! originally, i joked about liking moose and it was a sort of inside joke with my friends, but i ended up really liking him... LOL
basically every villager that was a random move in on my island i've learned to tolerate or like. sheldon really grew on me. his little cardio catchphrase sounds so cute coming out of his mouth and he for a fact has a top 5 villager interior in this game.
I have a deep-seated phobia of clowns and related to this, I also don't like masks that cover the entire face.
My partner got Lucha as their 6th and I wasn't thrilled to see him at my campsite as well because... Well... Masks.
But then, Lucha slowly grew on me and after a thunderstorm in my game which resulted in him flirting with me and saying I could leap into his arms if I was scared, I had to laugh and give him a real chance.
Now, I definitely wouldn't give him up - mask and all.
Kidd I hated in new leaf cause he moved right on top of my hybrid flower garden but now I absolutely love him and he’s quickly become one of my favourite villagers. Another is Claudia who at first I didn’t give the time of day but now I love her too!
I got Dom as my starter jock and I was so disappointed. My plans were to let him go if he wanted to leave and I had hoped he would want to right away, but after awhile, he grew on me so much. Now I absolutely adore him! He is my all time favorite villager ❤ Definitely best boi of my island lolol.
Yes, Drago! At first I hated him when he moved into my town but he really grew on me for some reason. I think he is so adorable now and I would never let him leave
Dizzy and Apple. They were random move-ins that took the one of the three first plots Tom Nook gives you. I was livid when I saw they didn't even give me a full day to look for three villagers. Eventually they grew up on me, although I let Dizzy go because I wanted other lazy villagers. Apple will stay, though, even though I hate that she has a generic house.
Judy! Everyone was surprised when I said she isn't a dreamy but I just thought her design was too forced to be cute. But..
I love her now! She's cute but also super creepy and I believe she's just disguised as a bear cub..... so she's a dreamy now!
I guess Raymond. Before I had him I thought he would be ok. Then at first he was unbearable. Now friendship is higher and I can feel him being very close to forking over his photo. He has warmed up to me and I like him more. I feel like if this was another smug I like a bit more like Jacques or Marshal I’d feel this way still though. I’ll probably move him out via amiibo after I get his photo lol.
Definitely I ended up getting Mathilda as a random move-in over a month ago while trying to get Ankha (TT accident). I ended up booting Mathilda for Diana later on so I could make space but I started to miss her on my island so I decided to boot Ankha for her (ironic) mostly because I didn't feel that closeness with Ankha and the fact that I had 3 cats so I wanted more species variety.
I got Kidd as my last random move in, this was back at the beginning when I didn’t have a lot of NMT to go island hopping. I thought he seemed...ok, but I already had Marshal as my resident smug and thought Kidd stood out on my island like a sore thumb.
I always intended to let him go eventually or replace him with a campsite villager, but there was always someone else I wanted to kick out more. Then this week I realised how much I enjoy having him around and how sad I’d be if he left. I think it was after he started fretting one time about who was his best friend out of me and Peanut . Now he’s moved to my “to keep” list. I love the lil guy.
Coach, he was my starting jock villager and when I first saw him I didnt really like him. He grew on my so quickly, he gave me a cool hat in the beginning and my first nickname in the game. He's still on my island because I feel like I might miss him if he moves out. I'll probably let him move out at some point, but I want his picture first. Plus, after the game released and I started to really like Coach, I bought his amiibo card in case I missed him after he moved out.

he was a random move in on my island into my 6th plot i believe, i didn't realise tom nook would fill the plot with someone random the next day. when i logged on and checked the plot, it said benedict was gonna move in. i was frustrated, as i really wanted bones and one of my friends was holding him for me.
the next day he moved in and i ignored him for a while before finally deciding to talk to him (i was salty lmao) and my opinion of him changed. i thought he was actually really cute and started to get attached. i talked to him every day and gave him gifts. one day, in return, he gave me his photo and i was rlly happy!
i couldn't imagine him leaving ever honestly. i love him sm! my lil island wouldn't be the same without my chicken boyo
