When I first joined, I didn't understand how much villagers were worth really. I accepted a trade only to be offered a way better one, but it was too late. Totally my fault.

Anyone else have stories?

I bought a villager for around a big sum of bells... then a few minutes later someone asks me if I want to have it for free. welp.

What sucks is that it happened more than twice. Note to self: have just a little bit more patience, please.

I made a couple of mistakes: 1) giving a "negative" review to someone new, to this site, who disappeared quickly after having joined this site; 2) having held items, though it was just a particular furniture series, for a forum member who also went away.

I made an adjustment for myself with realizing what not to do again. No one else was ever a problem, for me, after those examples.

I've had a few deals where I jumped on the first person selling the items I want, only to have someone else sell the exact same items for cheaper the next day. XD

It's what I get for not being patient.

Same as everyone, overpaying for things not worth it. Like I have bought several unoriginal villagers for top TBT prices, and they were auto-saved too. When I have had others offer me auto-saved originals for way less or sometimes ever free.

Paying 220 TBT for Ankha doesn't seem worth it. Don't get me wrong, she isn't a bad villager and her design and house are very unique, but overall I am underwhelmed and I might switch her for a different snooty in the future. On the other hand, I bought Kid Cat only so he wouldn't be voided and I love him.

I think I might have overpaid something once or twice, but I got used to the correct prices pretty quickly actually.

Same! I'm pretty used to forum trading so I usually search for older threads to get the average price for the item/ villager goes for. But sometimes I'm too lazy and end up over paying ; - ; Oh well

I had a lot of tbt and I decided to spend it. This girl had a bunch of dlc, so I wanted to buy a bunch of her items. The amount came to over 700 tbt. She said she was getting the items ready, so I waited, and waited, and waited. After almost 3 hours of checking the thread every few minutes, I went to fold laundry. When I returned ( 30 minutes later) I saw that she sent me some pm's and she seemed VERY annoyed that I wasn't opening my gate. I hurried and opened and when she arrived, she wasn't very friendly. I gave the brat a positive wifi, and she gave me a neutral. I wish I had never done business with someone so rude.

Man, I would hate that, I hate most rudeness in general, but if someone got mad at me after hours of waiting for them I would give them a neutral rating.

Sold someone 270 of my BTB for 2 million IGB when I was new and didn't know any better. I'm still annoyed that they took advantage of my new-ness like that. -.-

Paying almost 200 TBT Skye.

Oh my goooosh, I paid 200 tbt for Skye, because she moved out of my main town unexpectedly and was my faaavorite villager. I wanted her in my second town, but felt so apprehensive about paying that much tbt for her. I paid it, invited her, and she never even moved in :/

Also, when I started cycling for the first time and trading villagers, I was way too nice and dumb. I offered a villager to someone for an actually very decent amount of tbt (it was well below 100, I want to say between 15-35). I let them come and invite the villager first, because I wanted to make sure they got it, and of course they never paid. It wasn't too large an amount or rare of a villager to matter much, but it still irked me. Needless to say, I request payment first now.
