Ever had disappointingly good luck?

So I only use my NMT when I have an open plot because otherwise it seems like kind of a waste and I just finally had a villager move out so I went island hopping today. My goal was to find a new villager and catch a mahi mahi.

The first island I visited was big fish island with Meringue and I caught the mahi mahi. The next was bamboo with Marshal and the third was the spiral one with Chèvre who I invited. I’m really glad to have found one of my dreamys but still kind of disappointed it was so fast. I was looking forward to seeing what kind of stuff I found and who I saw on all the different islands I visited. Anyone else ever been annoyed by things working out too well in game?

My only ounce of luck was when I caught a mahi mahi with just 10 fish bait. Getting the giant trevally on the other hand, is still a work in progress and I've lost count of how much fish bait I've had to use to try and get it. Along with the golden trout

I had bad good luck. I found Judy on island 9 today. I found Flora, my dreamie on island 30.

I ran into Marina the last two island hopping sessions. I wish my friends tt so I can give them their dreamies.

I was all set with 50 or so tickets to island hop a couple weeks back and I was really excited, but I found Lolly on my 2nd ticket. Took her home and I love her but it was kind of a letdown in terms of island hopping being a fun activity.

Yes, but I feel silly for being disappointed when I read the threads about island hopping on here! I don't TT so after waiting for someone to ping to move out I was excited to go look for my new villager and collect resources and recipes at the same time. I wore all the DAL stuff (don't know if them being lucky turned out to be true?) and on my first trip I got one of the interesting islands with Ankha.
She's not one of my favourites but I've never had her in AC before and she's pretty cool. I couldn't leave her, so that was that.

You may already know this, but the golden trout is NOT the biggest fish size, it's one down. I don't grind out missing fish often because it's not fun for me, but when I would try for a golden trout, I had it in my head it was the size of a black bass so that's all I kept catching. I was doing a catch 5 fish nook miles task and randomly caught my first golden trout.

I've yet to get the mahi mahi or giant trevally, but I also only tried once with about 20 bait so I'm not surprised.

Yesterday, I had Celeste, Wisp, and Redd visit. I almost missed out on seeing Redd since I didn't think to look for him until I was running round looking for Wisp's spirit.

I've had some really good luck with Nook Miles Tickets before. I found Erik, Beau, and Zucker all within five tickets.

I actually didn't know that about the golden trout! Every time I saw the large shadow at night, I always tried to fish for it, but if it's anything smaller, I would just ignore it!

Now I know! I hardly waste any fish bait for the golden trout since I'm focusing more on the giant trevally. I should also focus on getting the barreleye, I still haven't gotten that either.

No problem! I figured it would help SOMEONE lol. (Also the barreleye only shows up at night RIP all those times I caught horse mackerel during the day hoping it'd be a barreleye lol. I really gotta pay more attention to the bug/fish guides.)

When I first started the game and was able to get my first plot. With my first and one and only nook mile ticket from Tom Nook, I found Stiches who was my dreamie in NL & in NH still because I never got him in NL. I felt so happy and lucky! Now even though I still feel happy (because I love Stiches ), I feel slightly unlucky since he was in my first 5. And first 5 means they do not get their true home bleh! I still don't understand why Nintendo thought, "Hey, lets make the 5 first villagers not have their real home!" XD Now I am debating whether or not I should let Stiches go so I can get his real home. I'd miss him too much so idk ;-;

I found Erik on my first ticket. I was kind of glad cause my next island hop i had to do, i spent 46 just trying to find a villager i liked.

I found Whitney on my second ticket. I wasn't looking for her at all (not for anyone), but was very pleasantly surprised, since she was in my first ever AC town (WW).
