Ever dodged a Spiny Shell?

Amazingly, I once drifted and got a mini turbo to escape one once. It was really just a fluke, I was just drifting and then a blue shell appears. I let go just as it started to dive down, and escaped it.

well, you can only dodge it if you hold onto a mushroom when youre in 1st place, which is usually never.
