Ever been scammed?

I feel like crying. My turnips were selling for 424 bells so I made a post here and on reddit and tons of people came into my town for HOURS and then I go to the bathroom and come back and ALL my pink and blue roses were gone. How come people are such garbage??? Like, I opened my gates for them, wanting nothing in return... what the heck.

Have you ever had something like that happen to you?
What did they do?

If that happened to me, if it was on this site, I'd leave them a bad wifi rating. I'd tell them to give back my stuff (though if they took it in the first place idk if tehy'd willingly return anything).
Anyways i have a few blue roses I can give you to help you get those back! I may have a few pink ones to spare but I don't have a lot so I'll have to check.
Let me know if you want any. Since I don't have many it'd just be like 6 blue roses 3 pink ones but those things breed like bunnies so...

All that's sweet. But it's okay. I can breed more. It was just so annoying. My town was going to be all pink and white roses and now I'm going to have to start over. People are such jerks!

aww, I'm sorry. that's a bummer. once, I made the mistake of putting paintings I was selling to someone behind trees. I opened my gate, had 2 visitors... and then when all was said and done, the paintings were gone. I'm pretty sure the second one took them, but without definitive proof, I didn't waste time leaving them a negative wi-fi rating on here or anything. it was just a real bummer, I felt bad for the person that was supposed to get them. >:

yep, I opened my gates to this 'new player' who wanted to visit my shops. While I was getting him baskets of FREE fruits he took some blue roses and mushrooms, and shook a few trees. I was getting him FREE fruits! and placing the baskets by the train station. I've since learnt that a new profile doesn't mean a poor new player. I was a bit put off at first but I still open my gates. I'm just more careful now and check wi-fi ratings. It's a shame cos someone had to be the first one to let me in their town and I'm so very grateful for that, but I'm a bit more cautious now.

I have been scammed. I posted on a Facebook group that I wanted people to play with on the island or in the town one time, and I had 3 people over. It was pretty cool and everyone was getting on. I went to make myself a cup of tea and when I got back there were 2 of them left and one had done a runner with a number of my hybrids that I had growing on the beach. I was pretty annoyed tbh and it kind of made me not want to play at all anymore. I flipped the switch but unfortunately the game had saved because of the swift exit through the train station. Gutted.

I haven't been scammed for a few reason

1. I'm super carefully with who I let in my town and look at there trading history

2. I have trust issues

3. I hardly ever do trades with people

Yup! Got scammed off a couple tbt once because I always trusted that they'd pay me before, right after, or during..but they didn't. Then I almost got scammed a second time by trading a villager thinking they'd pay me after/during, but they didn't pay until 10 hours later because they were too tired to hit the currency button or lmk! All it takes is for someone to say they'll pay later and I'd wait.. but not getting any answer is kind of rude. People should pull out their end of the deal asap.

I now make sure they pay the tbt first, since I know I'll be giving what they want right after, or if it's for IGB or item trade, I'll just hit the wifi-button if they try to leave or don't start dropping the IGB/Items! Scammers suck and it's sad that they made me lose my trust in others. I'd never afk with some random people in my town for that reason.

That's horrible! It's so petty and dumb that people ruin a fun game by scamming. Personally, knock on wood, I haven't, but yesterday when I was island hopping with people from other countries, someone by the name of Haley tried to scam me of my crown. She asked if I wanted to do a tour with her, and I said "sure!", but the catch was I had to let her wear my crown only for the tour. Obviously I said no and just left.

Yea I used to always trust, I gave a negative rating for the second person for not paying me, but they gave me a positive one HOURS later when they finally paid. They got mad that I gave a negative and I'm like "I waited 40minutes as you looked at forums, then you log off and never pay, what am I supposed to think?" I messaged them saying since they paid I'll contact a mod to get the rating off, which I did, and the person basically replied for me to shut up and they were totally rude. I should have left the rating imo... Waste of my time waiting and getting the rating removed. I'm not a mean person, just been scammed before and don't feel like waiting days to get my payment and should not have to! I also don't like when people make an offer with you and you accept while they go and make another order within the same time frame where they can't afford both. Usually they'll cancel with me or the other person if that's the case. Usually it wastes my time getting the stuff ready just for them to cancel. (I totally understand if it's been an hour or longer maybe even 30 minutes) In your case, that's worse, accepts both offers and doesn't cancel so one doesn't get paid. So low.

I try my best to pay first, but I'll never keep people waiting for a payment. You also don't deserve that negative rating!

Omg, i am so sorry! I dont know why people think its ok to steal.

The one big scam i got taken on was during a villager trade. The auction ended up being like 18 mil for a villager, which i thought was ridiculous. I could tell the winner really wanted the villager, so i gave him discount to 9 mil. He dropped bells everywhere, and it looked like a lot so i didnt count. Only to realize that he had 99,000 bags but also 10,000 bags mixed in there. So at first glance it looked correct, but upon closer look, he had shorted me a lot. I couldnt believe it! Oh well, live and learn, i guess.

Anyways, sorry your kindess got repaid with stealing. Its always sad when a nice act is taken advantage of.
