Ever been scammed in a card trade?

Same. I got banned from the server because a mod personally attacked me. I had to get an appeal and by the time I was allowed back onto the server I just decided to avoid it.

Some petty kids with some real power issues on there, imo.

I feel a lot better knowing it isn't just me who doesn't like it there...

I love to trade cards! I would start trading again. (Once I get more stamps)
One time I had completing forgot to put in a card I was traded in my binder so I accidentally traded for another one!

I've only traded through here and a group of friends in the US that I've played with for years on LiveJournal. Anything else extra I've sold for cheap on ebay. I know you said you'd prefer not to do that but sometimes it's the lesser of the evils (plus I've made around ?100 which I can't sniff at really)

I can see why Reddit is not an ideal place to trade cards. For one, the reddit community can be very immature, but the biggest danger seems to be alternate accounts over there. You can make accounts very easily and anonymously, so it doesn't surprise me that people seek to scam others in trades, they don't really have anything to lose. Just make another account and you're good to go again. At least, that is how I imagine it is over there. The only way to prevent this sort of thing is a public blacklist thread of addresses, but that'll never happen due to privacy concerns.

I'm not into trading cards because I just buy the individual cards I want, but I wouldn't be completely opposed to the idea of trading. I would try to use more reputable websites such as TBT, it seems much easier here to weed out the bad ones.

Ebay just isn't very practical for me at the moment, if anything came up which meant I couldn't send their cards out fast enough I wouldn't really want all the hassle of refunds and things. Find trading to be more relaxed, providing both people actually do what they're supposed to ;) I think in future I may just stick to trading a handful of cards at a time so I don't lose as much if something falls through.

What a shame to hear! It realy sucks when that happens becuase now you are tinking twice before you trade again. I once had it also.

I was trading a card with some guy and like you i send it the next day as soon as i could. After a week i still had no card (we were in the same smal country). I kept e-mailing him where my card was and such. He gave me excuse after excuse. Til at one point i got fed up with it and made a police report( just for the sake of being scammed. Its a crime.) He also got an e-mail that i made a report.

He started e-mailing me like crazy saying he is sorry, the card is on its way with somthing extra. And i got the card two days after with a extra card!

When i started trading amiibo cards on here i was also a bit scared. But the comunity is great and every card arived so far. I made 12 trades already. :)

You don't mess around. I respect that.

I've never actually traded cards before (even though I bought a bunch of them for HHD), and I'm honestly not even sure how it works.
