Essential inventory items?

Besides tools, wetsuits & snorkels, what are some items you always carry around with you?

For me it's these:
simple wooden fence
a stack of native fruit
mini diy workbench
customization kits
medicine

I've only been carrying a shovel, wand & sling shot. My tools used to take up the whole first row almost so I've dwindled it down a lot.

Each type of material needing for crafting tools and a stack of native fruit. I’m also very particular about keeping them organized and not letting a random item stray into the order I have them lol

This isn’t essential but I literally always have dug up trees/bushes in my inventory - I dig them up and then cant commit to where I want to replant them so I just end up carrying around 10+ trees lol

Aside from tools, I always have a stack of fruits and wrapping paper for gifting and some sticks to craft tools when they break. I have enough work benches scattered around the island, so I don't carry one with me.

Filmsy axe, the iron axe I accidentally use instead, one unassessed fossil, one (1) fence leftover, 30 softwood but not 30 of any other kind, one shovel 1 use short of breaking, the other shovel I had that I found by the beach, two lost items I never returned, and fifteen dupe DIYs by my villagers

Not. More. And. Not. Less.

yea wrapping the fruits for the +1 then using stacked coconuts and full inv for the possible photo in the mail

Other than tools, lately it's been flower seeds, dug up flowers, saplings and bush starts since I've been redesigning my island.

This is what my inventory currently looks like, and it's been this way for like a week now pretty much

I do not need anything that's in it currently except the 3 tools, I am just lazy to go to my house and store everything, as well as planting the flowers in my actual dedicated flower area. I also have loads of pools of items all over the floor of my island, and these pools are scattered everywhere. I can't even do barely anything in game, because all I have on me right now is a shovel and a ladder (which is useless because I have inclines everywhere). No I do not know what's wrong with me, idk if some kind of curse has been cast on me to be forever afflicted with a inventory full of trash, but for some reason I can't get myself to do anything about it. So the answer to the question? Uhh nothing aside from my shovel apparently lmao.

Thankfully, non-wrapped fruit can still get you their photos if you give it to them with a full inventory. Then they have to mail you a return gift, which has a good chance of being a photo.

one of every tool (inc. both axes, the ladder and pole) and then spare NMTs to fill up the tenth spot so its emptiness doesn't bother me.

Im not good at catching wraps so I always carry medicine with me and ofc some bells.
