Error on Single player Island?

For some reason my DS feels the need to give me some kind of error when I get really close to getting 50 medals for the wifi island pass. This is the second time it decided to close and restart the system after I leave for a tour. I can't really read the error since it's my Japan DS and i can't really read everything yet...

Anyone have this happen on the single player island?
The first time it happened I thought I somehow hit the power or something cause I was watching tv but this time I clearly saw the エラー

That's weird. It shouldn't give an error on the regular island :/ not sure what to suggest but I definitely don't think it's normal.

Is it an early version? I heard the 3DSes released early on the aren't...exactly, well, good.

It says 1.1 on the start screen in the corner. And I did a software check after the error and it seemed to be up to date. xP
Maybe I'll see if I need a system update for the actual DS next.
