Error code 018-512.

Okay. If someone knows what I can do or at least tell me that I'm not the only one with this problem here at these forums, that would be terrific.

It seems that no matter what internet connection I try, 1 out of 5 times I will get THAT error code. I even called up a NoA representative today. He walked me through the entire process as to how I can allow my DS to "go through" my router's firewall and whatnot.

Thing is, I'm REALLY starting to think it's NOT my internet connection, or router. It's my game...or something. Because, like I said, despite WHAT connection I use (I also have a mobile hotspot on my phone), I am continuously getting the error code. I'm currently trying to manage a shop in the Re-Tail forum here, but that is near-impossible with such an unstable device / game. Is there anyone else who frequently gets this problem? Please do tell me I am not the only one. D8

Anyways, this can't be a router issue. It happens with the same people every time.

And I'm pretty sure they're not typically the problem, either. I've even had a lot of people say that they can connect to others' towns perfectly fine! Argh...!

Oh, right. And I've never had this problem with any other game. ONLY with New Leaf when I try to visit others' towns, or when they try to visit me.

1) Try moving closer to your router

2) Turn the router off and on a few times

3) Turn off your 3DS and turn it back on

4) Delete the internet connection, then put all the info back.

Usually, when I get error codes, one of the above works. If you have the cartridge, you could also try cleaning it off and getting the dust off it, and if you have a downloaded copy, pull out the SD card and clean that, then put it back in.

I have actually tried all of those, but to no avail. But i appreciate your feedback! Ill try cleaning the cartridge out.
